Cherishing the Opportunity to Save People in China Through Texts
(Minghui.org) In February I began to text facts about Falun Dafa to people in China, and I'd like to share some of my experiences with you.
When I texted some messages to one man, I received a response that cursed me. I didn't think much about it. I simply apologized out of courtesy and sent him my good wishes. He replied with two more texts that cursed me.
I told other practitioners about this, and we agreed that this person actually wanted to learn the facts even though he was cursing me. Chinese people have been indoctrinated by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to reject anyone who criticizes the regime as “anti-China forces” who looked down on China.
I used the insight I had gained from reading How the Specter of Communism Is Ruling Our World and texted him again. I told him that we are all fellow Chinese and have an ancient and amazing cultural heritage. I explained that people overseas were worried about people in China and that that was why I had contacted him. I said people outside China knew that Chinese people are good but the CCP is evil, and that the CCP is not the same as the country of China. He responded, “I see. Now I understand why you advise people to quit the CCP.”
I explained that millions of Chinese had withdrawn their memberships in the CCP and asked if he wanted to withdraw as well. We texted back and forth. His attitude constantly wavered.
At one point he sent me a photo of himself and said he wanted to quit the CCP. Then he asked whether he would get any money if he quit. He later told me he wanted to quit the CCP with a pseudonym. Then he asked whether I had WeChat. The next day, he told me that he didn't believe that I was in Taiwan. He also told me that if I didn't have WeChat, then I must be older than 70 years old.
I had already submitted his name to the Global Service Center for Quitting the CCP but had not received a response. I felt a bit impatient with him and began to think that he was just playing with me. I decided our conversation was over, so I texted him, “You have the final say about what you believe. I wish you a safe future.”
The following day, I felt exhausted. Even though he had agreed to quit the CCP, I hadn't been able to help him understand that Falun Dafa is good. When I meditated, my thoughts were chaotic and I wasn't able to calm down. A sudden thought entered my mind: “You killed our king.” I didn't want to think about that man, and I felt that I had done my best. I felt it wasn't my fault if anything bad happened to him.
That night I dreamed that I was in a house painted white (in Asian cultures, white is the color for death). A male body and a female body lay on the floor. I remembered there was a woman in the photo he had sent me. A person pointed at me and said, “You killed them.” I still didn't want to acknowledge that I did anything wrong. How could I have killed them? I ran to a window and jumped out. At that point I woke up.
My head ached after I got up, and my shoulder felt sore. The pain did not stop until that evening, when I received a reply from the Global Service Center for Quitting the CCP that the man's statement was published.
Instead of feeling pleased, I felt upset because it seemed that I had pushed him away from being saved. I didn't know what his situation was. Was he was infected with the coronavirus? What should I do? I asked Master to give me a second chance.
Amazingly, the man texted me the next morning. I texted him the response from the Global Service Center for Quitting the CCP. We texted back and forth for about a week, and he asked me several questions. I sent him information about the awards and proclamations that Falun Dafa and its founder have received, as well as China's favorable news coverage about Falun Dafa before the persecution started. In the end, he agreed with what I told him.
A good text message is like a brochure. It contains simple but complete information, and we can send this to people that we would never have met. I feel that practitioners are doing a good job in writing these messages. The texts contain messages that show people we care about them. They also contain facts about Falun Dafa and quitting the CCP.
My understanding is limited. Please kindly point out anything inappropriate.
