(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in five cities or counties in three provinces, where at least 11 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Four Practitioners' Verdicts Upheld
2. [Shizuishan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region] Three Practitioners Arrested
3. [Beijing] Ms. Xia Ruimin and Another Practitioner Arrested
4. [Yinchuan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region] Ms. Guo Wenyan Arrested
5. [Guangyuan City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Luo Changhua Arrested
1. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Four Practitioners' Verdicts Upheld
Four practitioners were tried and sentenced to prison by the Dongying District Court on December 24, 2019.
Mr. Wang Ziming was given a seven-and-a-half-year prison term and fined 30,000 yuan.Mr. Gao Hongwei was given a four-year prison term and fined 20,000 yuan.Ms. Shang Zhaoxiang was given a three-year prison term and fined 10,000 yuan.Ms. Zhang Aili was given a two-year-and-ten-month prison term and fined 8,000 yuan.
They all appealed to the Dongying City Intermediate Court, which upheld the original verdicts on April 13, 2020.
The four practitioners are still being held in the Dongying Detention Center.
2. [Shizuishan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region] Three Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Shi Meilan, Ms. Yu Dezhen, and Ms. Chen Cuiping from the Huinong District were arrested by officers from the Huinong Domestic Security Division and the Yuanyi Police Station on the morning of May 3, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong. Their homes were ransacked, and photos of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Dafa books, E-books, Falun Gong exercises music tapes, and cell phones were confiscated.
3. [Beijing] Ms. Xia Ruimin and Another Practitioner Arrested
Ms. Xia Ruimin and another practitioner from Xuegezhuang Village, Taishitun Town in the Miyun District were arrested in February 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong. Their homes were ransacked. They were released on bail due to the pandemic.
4. [Yinchuan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region] Ms. Guo Wenyan Arrested
Ms. Guo Wenyan was arrested by officers from the Jinfeng District Domestic Security Division and the Huanghedonglu Police Station on April 28, 2020. She was released later that evening.
5. [Guangyuan City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Luo Changhua Arrested
Several plainclothes officers broke into Mr. Luo Changhua’s home and ransacked it on the morning of February 28, 2020, videotaping the entire process. Mr. Luo was taken to a police station for questioning. They photographed him, took his fingerprints and palm prints, and forcibly withdrew his blood samples. He was released on bail after his daughter signed their paperwork that night.
