Additional Persecution News from China – March 22, 2020 (15 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in nine provinces, where at least 27 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province] Four Practitioners Detained

Ms. Chen Xiangyun, Ms. Liu Xiuzhen, and Ms. Nie Rongqin from the Xi District Mine Bureau were arrested on September 25, 2019, and their homes were ransacked. They were taken to the Panzhihua City Detention Center. Their cases were turned over to the Xi Procuratorate in December.

Ms. Tan Haiyan from the Bingcaogang Sub-district was arrested by officers from the Panzhihua Domestic Security Division and Bingcaogang Police Station on the afternoon of March 17, 2020. Her home was ransacked, and Falun Dafa books and weekly publications were confiscated. She was placed in criminal detention on the evening of March 18, and was taken to the Renhe District.

2. [Kaijiang County, Sichuan Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Liu Mingying, 73, her husband Mr. Li Bending, 76, Ms. Fang Zhengping, 68, and Ms. Tang Daobi were arrested on February 29, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong.

Those involved in the arrest include the deputy chief of Kaijiang County Police Department Hu Hao, head of the Domestic Security Division Tan Tianwen, deputy head Li Xiang, and the director of Dongcheng Police Station Wu Yingjun.

The officers ransacked Ms. Liu's home, and confiscated Falun Dafa books, a computer, and printed materials.

3. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Several Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Du Guixia, her husband, and other practitioners from Gaomi City were arrested by officers from the Xiazhuang Police Station of February 19, 2020.

4. [Yangquan City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Yu Chanfang Arrested

Ms. Yu Chanfang from Pingding County was arrested by officers from the Guanshan Town Police Station on March 11, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong.

5. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Wen Arrested

Ms. Wen, who runs a flower shop in Panyu Lijiang Garden, was arrested by police officers on March 21, 2020.

6. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Ai Lun Arrested

Ms. Ai Lun was arrested by officers from the Xiangmihu Police Station in early March 2020.

7. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Bai Yushu Arrested

Ms. Bai Yushu from Fuping Town, Fuping County, was arrested by the head of Fuping Domestic Security Division Jia Xiaohui, political head Guo Jinzhen, and other officers on the morning of March 19, 2020. Her home was ransacked, and Falun Gong informational materials were confiscated.

8. [Fengning County, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhang Wencheng and His Wife Arrested

Mr. Zhang Wencheng and his wife were arrested by the head of Fengning County Domestic Security Division Zhang Pengfei, and other officers on the morning of March 9, 2020. The couple's home was ransacked, and a computer, printer, and Falun Dafa books were confiscated.

Mr. Zhang and his wife were taken to a police station, and interrogated. The officers took their fingerprints and blood samples, and also recorded their speech and took their photos for voice recognition and facial recognition.

9. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Wenjie and Ms. Hao Liqin Arrested

Ms. Wang Wenjie and Ms. Hao Liqin from Mutoudeng Town, Qinglong County, were arrested by the head of Qinglong Domestic Security Division Li Yinqing, deputy head Lu Zhendong, and other officers on the morning of March 19, 2020. They were taken to the Changli County Procuratorate and interrogated.

10. [Anyang City, Henan Province] Ms. Jin Bainiu and Ms. Li Lanxiu Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Jin Bainiu and Ms. Li Lanxiu from Nanganghou Village, Caisang Town, Linzhou City, were arrested in September 2019. They were each sentenced to a one-and-a-half prison term.

11. [Yueyang City, Hunan Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Ms. Huang Juxiu was arrested on March 16, 2020, for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong. She is being held in Linxiang City.

Ms. Fu Guifang and Ms. Fang Yue’e from the Luowang neighborhood were arrested, and are being held in the Hubin Detention Center.

12. [Jinchang City, Gansu Province] Ms. Gong Yuehua Arrested

Ms. Gong Yuehua was arrested by Dai Baoji and other officers at a bus station in late July 2019. The police tied her to an iron chair and interrogated her.

13. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Lan Lihua in Critical Condition Due to Persecution

Ms. Lan Lihua, 48, was abused in the Liaoning Province Women's Prison, and was in critical condition by March 21, 2020. She suffers from many illnesses, including breast cancer, lung cancer in both lungs, and bilateral pleural effusion.

Ms. Lan’s family asked that she be released on parole to receive medical treatment, but the police said that was not possible because she did not plead guilty in her court trial.

14. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Sun Guifen’s Case Turned Over to Court

Ms. Sun Guifen is being held in the Yaojia Detention Center. Her case was turned over to the Jinzhou District Court in mid-February 2020.

15. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Shan Yulian Arrested

Ms. Shan Yulian from the Nangang District was arrested by officers from the Youzheng Police Station on the afternoon of March 19, 2020. The officers confiscated Falun Dafa books, and photos of the founder of Falun Gong.
