Additional Persecution News from China – April 11, 2020 (12 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 23 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Three Practitioners Facing Trial; Ms. Zhang Jun Arrested

The Yilan County Procuratorate filed the cases of Ms. Chen Shoumei, Ms. Zhang Xiuying, and Ms. Zhang Guiyun with the Yilan Court on February 12, 2020. The three practitioners are from Tonghe County.

Ms. Zhang Jun, 67, from the Acheng District, was followed and arrested by a plainclothes officer on April 9, for distributing Falun Gong fliers in Xinglong Town, Wuchang City. Ms. Zhang was recently released after serving a four-year prison term.

2. [Jiaozhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Rulan's Case Sent to Court

The Huangdao Procuratorate returned Ms. Liu Rulan's case to the Jiaozhou police in late February 2020. However, her case was transferred to the Huangdao Court on April 7.

3. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Du Zhaocai and His Wife Ms. Wu Ruifang Sentenced to Six Years in Prison

Mr. Du Zhaocai and his wife, Ms. Wu Ruifang, from Jiaolai Town were both sentenced to six-year prison terms and fined 20,000 yuan by the Huangdao District Court on December 3, 2019. They appealed to the Qingdao City Intermediate Court on April 7, 2020.

Mr. Du is being held in the Jiaozhou City Detention Center, while Ms. Wu is held in the Second Ward of Pudong Detention Center, Jimo City.

4. [Fuzhou City, Fujian Province] Ms. Li Yaping and Ms. Li Weiping Arrested

Ms. Li Yaping and Ms. Li Weiping were arrested by plainclothes officers on March 29, 2020, after someone reported them for distributing Falun Gong fliers. Their computer, printer, Falun Gong books, electric bike, and other personal belongings were confiscated.

Officers from the Yuefeng Police Station extorted 4,000 yuan from Ms. Li Weiping before releasing her on bail on the afternoon of March 30.

5. [Rushan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Yifan's Case Sent to Procuratorate

Mr. Wang Yifan was arrested by officers from the Rushan City Police Department in December 2019, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong in the Changjiazhuang Open Market, Baishatan Town. The Rushan Police Department approved the arrest in January 2020.

Mr. Wang's case was sent to the Rongcheng City Procuratorate in March.

6. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Peng Xia Taken to Brainwashing Center 

Officers from the Huailai County Domestic Security Division took Ms. Peng Xia from the Zhangjiakou Detention Center, and transferred her to the Dahuangzhuang Village Brainwashing Center on April 9, 2020.

7. [Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Ms. Wang Xia and Ms. Niu Yujie from Jixian County were arrested on the afternoon of March 17, 2020, after someone reported them for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Their homes were ransacked, and personal belongings confiscated. They were taken to the Fuli Police Station, before being transferred to the Shuangyashan City Detention Center on the evening of March 18.

Ms. Qi Hongyu from Jixian County was arrested on April 3, after someone reported her for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was taken to the Qianjin Police Station, and later transferred to the Shuangyashan Detention Center.

8. [Chiping County, Shandong Province] Mr. Han Jilai Detained

Mr. Han Jilai from Jiazhai Township was arrested by officers from the Jiazhai Police Station on March 22, 2020, and his three-wheeled motor vehicle was confiscated. He was detained for ten days.

9. [Hebi City, Henan Province] Ms. Xie Qiaoyun and Ms. Li Hemei Arrested

Ms. Xie Qiaoyun and Ms. Li Hemei were arrested on February 11, 2020.

10. [Tianjin] Ms. Song Xueling Arrested

Ms. Song Xueling from the Binhai District was arrested by police officers and neighborhood personnel on the evening of March 19, 2020. Her home was ransacked, and personal belongings were confiscated. She was released later that night.

11. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Gao Song and Mr. San Arrested

Mr. Gao Song and Mr. San were arrested on April 8, 2020.

12. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Sun Liyan, 59, from Fujin City, was arrested by officers from the Xiping Police Station on the afternoon of March 28, 2020, after someone reported her to the authorities for distributing Falun Gong fliers. She was later released.

Ms. Sun was arrested again the next day by officers from the Xiping Police Station, after someone reported them for distributing Falun Gong fliers. Ms. Liu Mouzi, 79, and Mr. Xu Chuanfu, 79, were arrested at the same time. They were all released later that night.
