(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in nine provinces, where at least 33 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Beijing] Three Practitioners Persecuted

Ms. Ma Fengqin was arrested in the fall of 2017 and sentenced to an eight-year prison term. She appealed, but the original verdict was recently upheld.

Ms. Gu Xiaohua, 70, was arrested at home by officers from the Yayuncun Police Station, Chaoyang District, on April 17, 2019. Her home was ransacked. She was taken to the Chaoyang Detention Center. Her case has been passed to the Chaoyang Court.

Ms. Wang Baizhi was recently arrested by police officers for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong to her neighbors. She has previously been detained, held in a brainwashing center, and imprisoned.

2. [Xintai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yin Peiqin Facing Trial

Ms. Yin Peiqin was arrested by the head of the Xintai Domestic Security Division Feng Dayong (冯大勇), and other officers on March 31, 2020. She is facing trial.

3. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Han Zijun and His Family Arrested

Mr. Han Zijun and three other family members from Puzhuangzi Village, Chahe Town, Fengnai District, were arrested on April 3, 2020.

4. [Tianjin] Ms. Wang Ying and Ms. Zhang Guifang Facing Trial

Ms. Wang Ying and Ms. Zhang Guifang were arrested by officers from the Wanxing Police Station and Nankai 610 Office on March 30, 2020, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Their homes were ransacked, and Falun Gong books, computers, printers, and other personal belongings confiscated.

Ms. Wang and Ms. Zhang were forced to pay 2,000 yuan each, before being released on bail pending trial.

5. [Liaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Di Shaoqun's Case Passed to Court

Ms. Di Shaoqun was arrested by the head of the Hongwei District Domestic Security Division, and other officers on November 19, 2019. Her home was ransacked, and Falun Gong books, a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, cell phones, an MP3 player, and informational materials were confiscated. Her case was recently passed to the court.

6. [Liupanshui City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Xie Huiqiong Arrested

Ms. Xie Huiqiong was arrested by plainclothes officers on March 26, 2020, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong.

7. [Jincheng City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Li Xiuying Taken to Brainwashing Center; Her Mother Passes Away

Ms. Li Xiuying, 55, was arrested at home by officers from the Kaifa District Police Department on March 11, 2020. Her home was ransacked, and computers, printers, and Falun Gong books were confiscated. She is being held in a brainwashing center.

Ms. Li’s mother, 85, was so traumatized by the arrest that she passed away three days later. The police threatened and intimidated her husband on March 21.

8. [Fuzhou City, Fujian Province] Ms. Chen Xu Detained

Ms. Chen Xu was arrested in Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province on October 27, 2019, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. She is being held in the Ruian Detention Center.

9. [Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Chen Xiaozhen Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Chen Xiaozhen, 80, was sentenced to a two-year prison term by the Lianyungang City Court in December 2019. She is being held in Nanjing City.

10. [Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province] Several Practitioners' Cases Passed to Court

Several practitioners were arrested by officers from the local police station on July 12, 2019. They were taken to the Zhuhai No.1 Detention Center.

The practitioners include Mr. Jin Yuan, Ms. Wang Zhijun, Ms. Zhu Qing, Ms. Zhang Yuzhen, Mr. Li Liuguang, Ms. Li Jianqing, Mr. Lin Wuyong, and Mr. Wang Weibin. Their cases were sent to the Xiangzhou District Court.

Mr. Lin and Mr. Jin were tried on January 15, 2020.

Ms. Zhang Zhengbi was arrested on March 20, 2020, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was taken to the Beigu Police Station, and detained for ten days.

12. [Chengde City, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Su Guifeng, Ms. Ji Xiuyun, and Ms. Gao Guizhi were arrested by officers from the Yingshouyingzi Police Department on February 17, 2020, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Their homes were ransacked, and Falun Gong books confiscated.

They were forced to pay 2,000 yuan each, before being released.

13. [Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Feng Detained

Ms. Li Feng was arrested on March 7, 2020, and detained for five days.

14. [Chongqing] Mr. Xue Junhe and Ms. Zhang Sufang Arrested

Mr. Xue Junhe, 81, was arrested by officers from the Yuzhong District Police Department and Caiyuanba Police Station for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. The police confiscated Falun Gong books and informational materials.

Ms. Zhang Sufang was arrested by Lou Yupeng from the Niujiaowan Community on April 3, 2020. The police confiscated her printers and Falun Gong books.

15. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Gao Suhua Arrested

Ms. Gao Suhua was arrested on April 6, 2020, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong.

16. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Zheng Yingying and Ms. Zheng Yingzhuang Arrested

Ms. Zheng Yingying, 69, and Ms. Zheng Yingzhuang were arrested by police officers on April 1, 2020, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Paper currency (bills) worth 2,500 yuan, which had information about Falun Gong on them, was confiscated.
