Additional Persecution News from China – April 5, 2020 (10 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in ten cities or counties in eight provinces, where at least 18 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Held in Detention Center

Ms. Xin Fengqin was arrested at home on the morning of April 16, 2019. Her home was ransacked. She was sentenced to a one-year prison term, and is still being held in the Chaoyang City Detention Center.

Mr. Pan Yufeng was arrested at home by officers from the Beita Police Department on November 5, 2019. He was taken to the Chaoyang City Detention Center. His case has been turned over to the Shuangta Court.

Mr. Wang Huaiyu was arrested by officers from the Nanta Police Department on March 29, 2020, for distributing Falun Gong informational materials. He is being held in the Chaoyang County Detention Center.

2. [Anguo City, Hebei Province] Mr. Xiao Xiangyu Held in Detention Center

Mr. Xiao Xiangyu is being held in the Baoding Detention Center. His family has not been allowed to visit him.

3. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Two Female Practitioners Arrested

Two female practitioners (ages 50 and 84) were reported to the police on the morning of April 4, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong. They were arrested and taken to the Nanjinlu Police Station.

Both practitioners were released later that afternoon.

4. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Mr. Jiang Zhisheng and Ms. Jiang Xinna Arrested

Officers from the Lidao Town Police Station, Rongcheng City, broke into elderly Mr. Jiang Zhisheng’s home in Qujiatai Village and ransacked it on the afternoon of February 8, 2020. They confiscated Falun Dafa books and photos of the founder of Falun Gong. Mr. Jiang was taken to the police station.

The officers also broke into elderly Ms. Jiang Xinna’s home, and ransacked it. They confiscated Falun Dafa books and photos of the founder of Falun Gong. Ms. Jiang was dragged into the police car, and taken to the police station.

Both practitioners were taken back home by their families that afternoon.

5. [Yulin City, Guangxi Province] Mr. Tan Jiren Held in Detention Center

Mr. Tan Jiren from Luchuan County was arrested by officers from the Xinzhou Police Station around April 1, 2020. He is being held in the Luchuan Detention Center.

6. [Urumqi City, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region] Ms. Li Xiaoping Arrested

Director Ma Junhong and other officers from the Nanlu Police Station broke into Ms. Li Xiaoping’s home, and ransacked it. They confiscated Falun Dafa books, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Gong calendars, and DVDs. Ms. Li was taken to the police station, and held for 25 hours.

Before Ms. Li was allowed to go home, the police coerced her family members into writing a guarantee that they would monitor her at home.

7. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Han Zijun’s Family of Four Arrested

Mr. Han Zijun, his wife Ms. Duan, their son Mr. Han Jiwei, and daughter-in-law from Puzhuangzi Village, Chahe Town, Fengnan District, were arrested on the evening of April 3, 2020.

8. [Jingzhou City, Hubei Province] Ms. Chen Shunying Held in Detention Center

Ms. Chen Shunying from the Jingzhou District was arrested by police officers in October 2019, for distributing Falun Gong calendars. Her home was ransacked. She was taken to the Ximen Detention Center.

9. [Dandong City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Chen Huiyan Arrested

Ms. Chen Huiyan, 76, was arrested at home by five officers from the Jinshan Police Station on the afternoon of April 2, 2020. Her home was ransacked. She was taken to a detention center, but was released that evening.

10. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Qiuyan and Ms. Li Yan Arrested

Ms. Wang Qiuyan and Ms. Li Yan from the Tiefeng District were reported to the police on the afternoon of April 2, 2020, for posting informational materials about Falun Gong. They were arrested by officers from the Tongdonglu Police Station.
