Additional Persecution News from China – February 14, 2020 (11 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 35 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhang Douxiu Arrested

Ms. Zhang Douxiu was reported to the police for distributing information about Falun Gong on January 31, 2020. She was arrested and her home ransacked by officers from the Hongpailou Police Station that evening. She was taken to a detention center which refused to admit her after she failed the physical exam. She is now isolated at home, and her door is sealed off with an official notice posted on it.

2. [Shanwei City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Shi Meiqin and Two Other Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Shi Meiqin and Mr. Chen Jianguo were arrested and their homes were ransacked on the evening of February 3, 2020. A day or two earlier, Mr. Ye Shaocheng was also arrested.

3. [Shantou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Weng Yibiao Arrested

Mr. Weng Yibiao was arrested at home on the morning of February 13, 2020.

4. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Fengrong and Her Non-Practitioner Husband Detained

Ms. Zhang Fengrong and her non-practitioner husband from the Fengrun District were arrested at their daughter’s rented home by officers from the Tanghai Town Police Station, Caofeidian District, on the afternoon of February 6, 2020. The officers confiscated her Falun Dafa books and photos of the founder of Falun Gong. The couple is being held in the Caofeidian Detention Center for 15 days of detention.

5. [Yongtai County, Fujian Province] Ms. Guo Xiuhai Held in Detention Center

Ms. Guo Xiuhai was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong and distributing Falun Gong informational USB flash drives on the afternoon of February 11, 2020. She was arrested by twelve officers from the Chengguan Police Station and the Domestic Security Division that evening. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated all her Falun Dafa books, an iPad, a computer, USB flash drives, and The Ultimate Goal of Communism. Ms. Guo is being held in the Xiaodongkeng Detention Center.

6. [Huaihua City, Hunan Province] Ms. Zeng Xiaoying Arrested

Ms. Zeng Xiaoying was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong on January 30, 2020. She was arrested, and her whereabouts are unknown.

7. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Shi Chunlai’s Home Ransacked

Officers from the Mancheng District 610 Office and the Yaozhuang Township Police Station led by Gao Shenger, Liangyu Village Party head, Mancheng District, broke into Ms. Shi Chunlai’s home and ransacked the place at noon on February 13, 2020. They confiscated all her Falun Dafa books, photos of the spiritual practice's founder, printed materials, and a printer.

8. [Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Shi Mengqiao Held in Detention Center

Ms. Shi Mengqiao from Dahou Village, Tangxian Town, Yongkang County, was arrested by officers from Xiangzhu Town Police Station at noon on February 12, 2020. Over 20 officers ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Dafa books, a computer, a printer, and an electric car. Ms. Shi’s husband Mr. Hu Tiejun was also arrested, and he was released at noon the following day. Ms. Shi was transferred to the Yongkang City Detention Center.

9. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Ma Ruitian and 20 Other Practitioners All Over 70 Years Old Remain in Custody

According to Minghui.org, there are currently 21 practitioners in the Dalian area, who are 70 years or older, held in prisons and detention centers. They are: Mr. Ma Ruitian, Ms. Wang Weizhen, Ms. Qin Shulan, Ms. Wang Riqing, Ms. Zhang Guimin, Ms. Wang Xiuxiang, Mr. Li Gang, Ms. Cheng Yurong, Mr. Xia Yuanxin, Mr. Liu Xiyong (in his 80s), Mr. Hao Fukui (in his 80s), Ms. Xie Huixian, Ms. Yu Yinghua, Ms. Gu Xuezhen, Ms. Ma Guizhen, Ms. Liang Shengmei, Mr. Song Xuecun, Ms. Xu Changlan, Ms. Zhao Zhenhua, Ms. Qin Shuzhen, and Mr. Li Furong.

10. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Fu Qilong Held in Detention Center

Mr. Fu Qilong, a Changsheng Elementary School teacher in Kuancheng District, was reported by students’ parents and the school principal to the authorities in early January 2020. He had talked to students about Falun Gong and asked them to quit the Young Pioneers (which is affiliated with the Chinese Communist Party). He was arrested by the Kuancheng District police on January 8. The officers ransacked his home and confiscated Zhuan Falun, a notebook computer, and a tablet.

Mr. Fu was taken to the Weizigou Detention Center, and released on January 18. Officers from the Mengjiaqiao Police Station intercepted, and took him to No. 3 Detention Center.

11. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Mr. Meng Zhaoheng Arrested

Mr. Meng Zhaoheng, 75, from Chenjiazhuang Village, Zhuosu Township, Jinzhou City, was arrested by officers from the Xiaojiao Township Police Station when he posted information about Falun Gong on the evening of February 10, 2020. His car was impounded, and he was released at 1:00 a.m.

Mr. Meng was again arrested at home the following morning. The officers later took pictures of his home and his family members. They also confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong and a mirror plaque with the Falun emblem.
