(Minghui.org) Thanks to Falun Dafa practitioners' persistent efforts to expose the Chinese Communist Party's persecution of their faith, many people have become aware of the persecution and have courageously stood up to support practitioners' right to freedom of belief. This encouraged me to do better and reach more people. Here I'd like to share a few stories about seniors I have spoken to.
A Senior Calls Out Loudly “Long Live Falun Dafa” in Public
I went out after lunch one day in the summer. I saw a senior in his 70s or 80s sitting in a wheelchair waiting behind the bus station. He was playing music loudly with a portable MP3 player.
I looked around and saw nobody. Then I thought, “Why did this man come here alone at noon? Isn't it a perfect chance for me to talk to him?”
I approached him and asked, “Are you waiting for the bus?” He shook his head. I found out that he was a victim of the CCP’s political movements. Knowing how bad the CCP is, he said, “I told my children and grandchildren to never join the Party, as it does nothing but bad things.”
I told him that the CCP is still doing evil things. I explained how they framed Falun Dafa via the state-run media and brutally tortured Dafa practitioners, simply because they refused to give up their belief. He listened to me attentively and said, “Now I understand why one of my colleagues insisted on practicing Falun Dafa no matter how brutal the persecution is.”
He became interested in Falun Dafa and also wanted to learn it.
Then, the bus came. When I got onto the bus, I heard him call out very loudly, “Long live Falun Dafa!” Everyone on the bus heard him clearly.
“Learning from You”
Another afternoon when I was on the bus, an older woman in her 70s or 80s kept staring at me. I smiled at her and said “Hi” to her. She replied, “Wow, you look very healthy.”
I thanked her for the compliment and told her, “I am going to be 60. The reason why I am so healthy is because I practice Falun Dafa.” Her eyes lit up, “I want to learn it too.”
She told me, “I have depression and wanted to die.”
“Please don't think that way!” I tried to continue the conversation but she was about to get off the bus. I wanted to help her so I decided to get off the bus too.
She was very surprised, “It's not your stop yet.”
I said to her, “I still have a lot more to tell you.” Then I told her what Falun Dafa is and how wonderful it is.
She told me, “A few days ago while I was walking along a street, a woman gave me a pamphlet about Falun Dafa. I read it and realized how much the media lied about it. I support you.”
I was still worried about her depression, but she said, “Don’t worry. I’m feeling good about life now after talking to you. I want to learn from Falun Dafa practitioners.” She agreed to quit the CCP and its associated organizations without hesitation.
On another occasion, I clarified the facts about Falun Dafa and the staged self-immolation at Tiananmen Square to a retired professor on a bus. She listened carefully and I could tell that this was the first time she'd heard so much about Falun Dafa. She accepted what I said and when she was ready to get off the bus, she turned to me and wished me good luck.
