Additional Persecution News from China – February 8, 2020 (4 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 4 cities or counties in 3 provinces, where at least 4 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province] 79-Year-Old Ms. Chen Xiaozhen Sentenced to Prison

1. [Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province] 79-Year-Old Ms. Chen Xiaozhen Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Chen Xiaozhen, 79, was tried by the Haizhou District Court in May 2019. No verdict was announced. She was tried again in late November, and sentenced to a two-year prison term.

2. [Shanghai] Ms. Wang Fengzhen Arrested

Ms. Wang Fengzhen from the Minhang District was reported to the police on the morning of February 5, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong. Officers from the Bijiang Police Station arrested her, dragged her into a police car, and drove her to the police station.

Officers ransacked Ms. Wang’s home, and confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong and Falun Dafa books. Ms. Wang returned home that evening.

3. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Kong Fanzhen Arrested

Ms. Kong Fanzhen from Yuejiazhuang Residential Community, Huancui District, was reported to the police on February 2, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong. Officers from the Jingqu Police Department and the court broke into Ms. Kong’s home and arrested her on the morning of February 7. The officers confiscated her Falun Dafa books and printed materials.

Ms. Kong’s whereabouts are unknown.

4. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Elderly Ms. Sun Yanzhi Arrested

Elderly Ms. Sun Yanzhi from Longfeng Residential Community, Dongzhou District, was arrested by officers from the Dongzhou Police Department on January 9, 2020, for distributing New Year paintings that contained information about Falun Gong. She returned home that evening.

Several officers from the Longfeng Police Station ransacked her home again on February 4, and confiscated Falun Gong materials.
