(Minghui.org) The U.S. evacuation flights that arrived in Wuhan to take American citizens trapped in the coronavirus epidemic epicenter back home, also brought pallets of medical supplies and humanitarian goods to the disease-ravaged city.
Mike Pompeo, the U.S. Secretary of State announced on February 7 that the U.S. will provide $100 million in funds to help China combat the coronavirus outbreak, after having sent over almost 17.8 tons of medical supplies. That same day, Alex Azar, secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), told reporters that the U.S.'s“longstanding offer to send world class experts to China remains on the table.”
In response to the support from the U.S. to help stem the outbreak, the Chinese communist regime is criticizing them, on an almost daily basis, for being “unhelpful.”
“The U.S. government hasn’t provided any substantial assistance to us, but it was the first to evacuate personnel from its consulate in Wuhan, the first to suggest partial withdrawal of its embassy staff, and the first to impose a travel ban on Chinese travelers,” said Hua Chunying, China’s Foreign Ministry spokeswoman, on February 3. She also blamed the U.S. for “creating and spreading fear.”
Cui Tiankai, China's ambassador to the United States, said at a forum on February 8 that the U.S. should remain vigilant to “political viruses” that are driving a wedge between the two countries.
“The American Imperialism”
This isn’t the first time that the communist regime in Beijing has blamed the U.S. for interfering with its domestic affairs, such as the Hong Kong protests and its human rights abuses of political dissidents.
Since the introduction of the term “American Imperialism” during the Vietnam War in 1950, the Chinese communist regime has often depicted Americans as “evil imperialists.” For the next 70 years, the term was repeatedly used in the news reports in China and is often the first thing that comes to a Chinese pserson’s mind when the U.S. is mentioned.
Whenever disagreements arise between the two countries, the state-owned television media reminds people that “American imperialism has never stopped trying to annihilate us.”
In fact, the cultivated anti-American sentiment is a direct reflection of the communist regime's stance against the U.S. on many issues, from national security to foreign policy, and from human rights to religious freedom. Such anti-Americanism often prevents the Chinese people from seeing the differences between a free world and a totalitarian state ruled by the Chinese Communist Party.
It is said in the book Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party that “Deception and lies have played a very important role in the CCP’s gaining and maintaining control. China enjoys the longest and most complete history in the world, and Chinese intellectuals have had the greatest faith in history, dating back to ancient times. The Chinese people have used history to assess the current reality and even to achieve personal spiritual improvement.”
“To make history serve the current regime, the CCP has made a practice of altering and concealing historical truth. When violence becomes too weak by itself to sustain control, the CCP resorts to deception and lies, which serve to justify and mask the ruling by violence.”
