(Minghui.org) Three Songyuan City, Jilin Province residents targeted in a group arrest last year were recently sentenced to prison for their faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

Ms. He Ping was sentenced to 12 years, and it's unclear which prison she was sent to. Mr. Li Dongjun was sentenced to four years in Gongzhuling Prison, where his family has been barred from visiting him or from making deposits in his prison account to buy daily necessities. A third practitioner, Ms. Li Liyan, was given two years and is now incarcerated in Jilin Province Women’s Prison.

Mr. Li and his wife Ms. Huang Xiuhua were arrested at home at around 7 p.m. on September 9, 2019. The police confiscated their cellphones, three Falun Gong books, a media player and some Falun Gong-related materials. They were then brought to the Domestic Security Office for interrogation.

The couple’s daughter-in-law, Ms. Yu Wei, was arrested at around 7 a.m. on September 10, 2019 and had a cellphone and a computer confiscated. Both Ms. Huang and Ms. Yu were released after 15 days of detention.

Other practitioners who were arrested on September 10 include Ms. Li Liyan, Ms. He Ping, Ms. Yang Liyan and her husband Mr. Chen Hailin (who doesn’t practice Falun Gong), Guo Haimei and a practitioner surnamed Wang. Ms. Li had her home ransacked and a photo of Falun Gong’s founder and a laptop confiscated.

While Mr. Chen, Guo and Wang were later released, Mr. Li, Ms. Li, Ms. He, and Ms. Yang remained in custody. It’s not clear whether Ms. Yang has been sentenced.
