China Fahui | Saving People Is Our Sacred Responsibility

(Minghui.org) I was previously arrested and sentenced to 5 years in prison after someone reported me to the authorities for clarifying the truth in rural areas. When I was released, my friends and family urged me to stay home and practice and not go out to talk to people about Dafa. But I am a Dafa disciple and I only listen to Master Li (the founder of Dafa). I spent a lot of time studying the Fa.

Master said,

“If you don't take action to save sentient beings, you will not have fulfilled your responsibility as a Dafa disciple and your cultivation will amount to nothing, for your becoming a Dafa disciple was not for the sake of your own Consummation. This means that you shoulder a monumental mission.” (“Fa Teaching at the 2009 Washington DC International Fa Conference,” Collected Fa Teachings, Vol. IX)

“All sentient beings are waiting to be saved, and I can tell you something certain. If Dafa disciples don’t act to save them, those people, no matter in what corner of the world they may be, will have no hope unless you go to save them.” (“Fa Teaching Given at the NTDTV Meeting,” Collected Fa Teachings, Vol. IX)

From Master’s teachings, I knew that saving people is our historic mission and great responsibility. I must not only do the three things, I must do them well. I began going to the morning markets to tell people about Dafa since May 22, 2019. On the first day, I helped 5 people quit the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) and its affiliated organizations. That night I dreamed I was meditating near the peak of a high mountain. I was surrounded by clouds. Master was encouraging me. I understood how urgent it was to save people.

Doing All Three Things Well

The three things Master asked us to do are very important. We have to study the Fa well, send forth righteous thoughts and save people. We should not neglect doing the exercises. But how do we find time to do all these things? I sleep less and take my meals quickly. I cook enough food to last two days and I only eat two meals a day. Eating is just a matter of keeping my stomach full.

I set off in the morning just before 5 a.m to the markets to clarify the truth. I return before 6 a.m to send righteous thoughts. I return to the markets after sending righteous thoughts. The markets are just a 5-minute walk from home. I get home after the markets are closed and study one lecture after breakfast. I then go out again to clarify the truth to people. I rush home before 6 p.m to send righteous thoughts. After that, I have dinner and either read Master’s lectures, Minghui weekly or go out to distribute materials. After taking a nap I do all five sets of exercises.

Master said,

“..cultivation is the best form of rest? You can obtain the kind of rest that can’t be obtained through sleep.” (“ Teachings at the First Conference in North America”)

I extended my time in doing the exercises and reduced the length of time I sleep.

One time, I overslept and did not have enough time to complete all the exercises. I thought: Since I don’t have time, I won’t do the sitting meditation. When I played the exercise music the next day, no matter which button I pressed, it kept playing the music for the fifth exercise. I thought the player was broken. Then I remembered that I skipped the meditation the previous day. The fifth set of exercises is not just for practicing the lotus posture. I apologized to Master for having the wrong notion. When I started the player again, things were back to normal.

Clarifying the Truth

From the moment I walk out of the door at 5 a.m, I seize every minute to save people. I walk along with those going in the same direction and talk as we walk. If people are going in the opposite direction, I turn around and walk with them, clarifying the truth at the same time. Some buy many things and I help them carry their bags. When I help them, they're more receptive to quitting the CCP (Chinese Communist Party). I also collect clean plastic bags and give them to villagers selling their vegetables in the market. They are delighted and listen to what I say. When I talk to young people, I first give them software to break through the Internet firewall before suggesting that they quit the CCP.

One elderly man who sells vegetables was a CCP member. I clarified the truth to him several times but he refused to listen. He closes shop very late every day and I also stay until the end. I continued explaining to him when there was no one around. I came to his stall again one day. Before I opened my mouth, he said, “I have a few eggplants. Why don’t you buy them?” I said sure. When I asked him, “Do you want to quit the CCP?” He smiled and said, “I quit.” I came up with an alias and helped him quit the CCP.

I go to the morning markets twice a day, going to every stall and talking nonstop. I try my best not to overlook anyone.

Once, I went to a small community to clarify the truth. I saw four elderly women sitting outside chatting and I approached them. I told them about Falun Dafa. All of them except one, agreed to quit the CCP. They gladly took the keepsakes with information about Dafa.

The woman who didn’t quit the CCP was a Christian. I said, “Do you know why I'm helping people quit the CCP? It’s because it has done many bad deeds including persecuting Falun Dafa. People are calling for it to be eliminated. Because you joined it, you may be implicated for its crimes. You have to renounce your membership so that you will be safe.” She was still hesitant. I continued: “You believe in God. The CCP is atheist, yet you swore to give your life for it. How will God see you?” She thought about what I said and replied, “Please help me quit. I am a member of the Youth League.”

When I went back, an old woman pulled my arm and asked, “Do you recognize me?” She took out a keepsake from her bag and said, “You gave this to me.” I remembered she was one of the four older women I clarified the truth to. She recited the poem on it and told me she loved to recite it. She asked for two more to give to her children. I gave them to her as well as two brochures. This encounter made me feel how magnificent it is to save sentient beings.

Another time, I met an elderly couple on the road. The man was a teacher in a middle school before he retired. He was a Communist Party member. The woman was ill. I met them four times in six months. The first time I clarified the truth to them, the older man admitted the CCP was bad but he did not believe in gods, Buddhas or Falun Dafa.

The second time I ran into them, they avoided me. I greeted them but did not get to say anything. The third time the old man was alone. I gave him a booklet and said, “Falun Dafa is practiced in over 100 countries. Please read this.” He took the booklet.

Around two months later, I saw him again. I asked, “Do you understand after reading the booklet?” He smiled and said, “I didn’t read it. I threw it away.” I said, “It’s fine if you didn’t read it, but you shouldn’t take it and then throw it away. Do you know how much effort I put into making it? He was embarrassed. He explained that he wanted to read it, but recalled he was a CCP member for 42 years. How could he betray the organization? I said, “The CCP has been deceiving you and everyone in the world.”

I explained to him how the Tiananmen Square self immolation was staged by the CCP to slander Falun Dafa. I also told him he would be blessed by quitting the CCP. He didn’t say anything. I knew he was thinking it over. He replied, “What you said is correct.” I said, “Then let me help you renounce your membership. I'll give you an alias.” He said, “No need. Use my real name.” I said, “That’s even better. I didn’t know you were so courageous.” He smiled and looked happy.

Clarifying the Truth in My Hometown

To save more people, I went further away to clarify the truth. Sometimes I went to villages. Other times I went to markets in surrounding areas.

I planned to go to the market in my hometown to clarify the truth. I had a dream. A group of demons stood outside the entrance of my hometown and said, “We were waiting for you.” When I woke up, I thought so many demons want to harm me. I better not go. I should go to places near my house to clarify the truth.

My righteous thoughts were strengthened through Fa-study. The markets in my hometown are huge and there are few practitioners there. If negative beings were trying to scare me, all the more reason I should go. Master said,

“With Master and the Way by my side, what is there to fear? (“ Fa-Teaching Given at the Conference in Sydney”)

“Dafa disciples are the hope of the future, and shoulder the historic responsibility of saving sentient beings.” (“ To the Fa Conference in Japan,” Team Blue translation)

The morning of the next market in my hometown, I sent righteous thoughts and got on my bicycle. I sent righteous thoughts along the way. I helped 25 people quit the CCP after spending half a day at the market. One person took several brochures and said he would help me hand them out. On the way home, I helped 4 people quit the CCP. Nothing interfered that day. The dream was just the old forces interfering with my saving people. People thanked me for telling them about Dafa.

I went to the markets in my hometown frequently and contacted practitioners in the area. We worked together to clarify the truth to people.

Cultivating Well to Save More People

Master said,

“While cultivating yourselves well, you should be doing well at saving sentient beings.” (“ To the Fa Conference in France,” Team Yellow translation)

While clarifying the truth to people, I worked hard on my cultivation. I try my best not to emphasize, argue or explain things when I feel I'm treated unfairly. When I buy vegetables, I try not to pick and choose or bargain with the seller.

Once, I was explaining things to an older man and he agreed to quit the CCP.

His wife had a stall and sold chives. She had only one bunch left for one yuan. A woman came to buy chives but only wanted half a bunch. The old woman wanted to give her half of what was left but the customer wanted to pick and choose. The woman picked all the good ones and paid half a yuan. The old woman grumbled, “Only the rotten ones are left. Who would want to buy them?” The customer looked at me and said, “You can sell them to her.” Then she left. The old woman asked, “Would you buy this?” I thought: as practitioners, shouldn’t we knowingly suffer losses? I replied no problem and gave her one yuan. She could not find any change. I told her it’s fine. She assured me she would make it up to me the next day. I told her not to worry—now she could go home early since she sold everything. She said, “If everyone behaved like you, how nice that would be.” She was especially receptive when I clarified the truth to her and she readily agreed to quit the CCP.

I bought tomatoes from an old man. They cost 1.80 yuan. I gave him 2 yuan. He wanted to give me some coriander to make up for the shortfall. I turned down his offer. When he wanted to put the tomatoes in a bag, I took out my own bag and gave him all the extra plastic bags I had. He said merrily, “You are such a good person, thinking of others all the time.” I said, “Since you think I'm a good person, let me tell you—it’s because I practice Falun Dafa.”

I told him about the persecution, how wonderful Dafa is. When I asked him to quit the CCP, he happily agreed.

A man next to him was listening to our conversation. I asked him to quit the CCP too. Just as I was leaving, the man whom I bought tomatoes from asked me to do him a favor. The stall owner next to him who sells onions had left his scale. Because he would not be at the market tomorrow, he asked me to return it to the owner the next day. I agreed to help him and took the scale. Just as I was leaving, the owner came back to look for it. The tomato seller said, “This is a good person. I asked her to keep it and bring it back tomorrow.” The onion seller thanked us and was about to leave when I stopped him. I clarified the truth to him and his companion. Both of them happily renounced their Party memberships. I said, “Isn’t this a blessing in disguise? You didn’t come looking for your scale. You came to be blessed.” We all laughed.

Sentient Beings Blessed After Learning the Truth

One morning, I saw a woman in her 50s selling vegetables. I walked up to her and asked, “Do you know about quitting the CCP?” She bowed and made the heshi gesture (two palms together in front of the chest). She took out a keepsake and said, “We met before.” She told me where and I remembered at once. She said she was hit by a car soon after I gave her the keepsake. Her bicycle was damaged but she was fine.

She told me, “I didn’t cause trouble for the person who hit me. He gave me 100 yuan to repair the bicycle and came to visit me. I thought, aren’t I protected by the amulet? I must thank you for giving it to me.” She wanted to give me greens and peanuts but I declined and asked her to thank the Master of Falun Dafa instead.

I met a young woman in her second year at the university. After I explained things to her, she agreed to quit the CCP. I told her to remember Falun Dafa is good and gave her a keepsake as well as software to break through the Internet firewall. She told me to be careful. She then did the heshi gesture and bowed 90 degrees. I told her to thank Master. She nodded her head, walked a dozen meters and looked back. Once again she did the heshi and bowed. She walked a few steps and turned back again, repeating the gesture. I was moved to tears. It made me realize what a sacred thing it is to save people.

I met a man in his 50s and I clarified the truth to him. He asked me to pay attention to safety. The next time I saw him I told him more details about the persecution and how Falun Dafa is practiced around the world. He asked me for truth-clarification materials. I gave him several booklets and a USB with more information. He completely understood the truth after reading the materials.

The next time we met, he asked me for my contact number so that he could get in touch should he need information on Dafa. He said, “Sister, I will keep a lookout while you ask people to quit the CCP. If they cause trouble, I will tell them not to make things difficult for an older lady. Don’t be afraid to speak. I will protect you.” I thanked him for the kind thought.

Clarifying the truth to people face to face is like wandering around in society. Master said,

“Wandering around in society is rather torturous. It must beg for food and run into different kinds of people who will scold, insult, or take advantage of it. It might encounter all kinds of things.” (Lecture 8, Zhuan Falun)

This is actually a great opportunity to get rid of one’s attachments. I tell myself not to be moved no matter what situation I run into. I only had one thought in mind, that is to clarify the truth and save people. In the process, I eliminated many human notions such as vanity, fear of criticism, impatience and so on.

I also dropped off truth-clarification materials at apartments in small communities, stuck messages in public places, gave out software to break through the Internet firewall, and made and used currencies with phrases about Falun Dafa on them. In the past year, I got nearly 3000 people to quit the CCP. I know Master has arranged everything. It is just as Master said,

“Cultivation depends on one’s own efforts, while the transformation of gong is done by one’s master.” (Lecture One, Zhuan Falun)

“Cultivation is the cornerstone of what we do, and saving people is our responsibility. Both of these things need to be done well.” (“Fa Teaching Given at the 2015 New York Fa Conference”)

Falun Dafa Is Amazing

Although I am still far behind in reaching the Fa's requirements, Master has given me great encouragement. Once I was clarifying the truth to an elderly couple in front of a shopping mall. Both of them quit the CCP. However, the woman hesitated when I gave her an amulet. Her husband took it and said, “What’s there to be afraid of?” He put it in his shirt pocket and went for a stroll. I continued talking to the wife.

The man returned in a short while and excitedly told his wife, “How long have I had ringing in my ears? How many pills have I taken? I didn’t get better. But now I'm fine.” He asked, “Is it true Dafa can resolve health issues?” I laughed and said, “I didn’t know about your ear problem. I also won’t know if you are better or not. Only you would know.” He joyfully exclaimed, “I’m fine. I can hear clearly.” He kept thanking me.

Another couple in their 40s were waiting for a taxi. I told them about Dafa and they agreed to quit the CCP. The man suddenly exclaimed: “My head stopped hurting!” He told me they were going to the hospital for a checkup. They were overjoyed. After thanking me and Master, they still decided to go to the hospital. I asked them to tell people what they just experienced so that more people will know how wonderful Dafa is. They smiled and agreed.

I once returned from clarifying the truth in the city. I rode my bicycle. It was past 5 p.m and the sky was overcast. Dark clouds rolled above my head and it looked as if it was about to rain. I thought, let me get home before it rains. I sped up and just as I reached home, it began to pour. Words cannot express my gratitude to Master.

I must walk even more steadfastly and steadily on the path assisting Master in the Fa-rectification. I hope to conduct myself like a practitioner, not be affected by anything that happens in the human world, fulfill my mission, and follow Master home.
