(Minghui.org) The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has recently been carrying out a nationwide “zero-out” campaign in an attempt to force all Falun Gong practitioners on the government's blacklists to renounce their faith. This report presents three harassment cases in three different provinces, in which the practitioners stood up to the authorities and refused to compromise.

Bowel Cancer Survivor Grateful to Falun Gong for Curing Her Cancer

Ms. Zhang Xiurong, a 72-year-old Linxi County, Inner Mongolia resident, has been harassed several times by local authorities. The officials kept coming to her home and demanding that she sign a statement to renounce her belief. Ms. Zhang firmly refused.

Ms. Zhang said that in June 2014, she suddenly couldn't keep food down and would vomit anything she ate. She was taken to the hospital and diagnosed with late-stage bowel cancer. She had an operation right away, but she didn't accept chemotherapy. Then a relative suggested that she sincerely recite the auspicious phrases “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” She decided to give it a try.

After she was discharged, her relative brought her audio recordings of Falun Gong lectures. The relative also taught her the five sets of exercises. After she began to practice Falun Gong, she recovered quickly.

When she went back to the hospital for an exam two months later, the test results were normal. The doctor was very surprised. Half a year later, her children brought her to a bigger cancer hospital to double check, since they could hardly believe that their mother's cancer was cured without treatment. And the new test results indicated that she was cancer-free. The whole family witnessed Falun Gong’s power and were grateful to the practice for giving Ms. Zhang a second chance at life.

“If a Blind Man Sees the Light, What Power Can Pull Him Back to the Darkness?”

Mr. Li Weiqing, a Changchun City, Jilin Province resident, received a phone call from a local community center on November 13, 2020. Knowing it was a harassment call, he didn't answer it.

Two days later, Mr. Li received a text message from the same phone number, which didn’t indicate its area code. It said, “Hello, we are unable to contact you, so we’re notifying you via text message. According to our superior, you have to be ‘transformed’ [made to renounce one’s faith] by the end of the year, and you will be rewarded 1,000 yuan. Otherwise, the fact that you are a Falun Gong practitioner will be marked on your child's school file, and it will make it harder for your child to find a job in the future. So in the long run, it’s better for you to sign the renunciation statement.”

Mr. Li replied, “Thank you for your message, and I understand that you are doing your job. I follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to be a good person and keep myself healthy and fit. Why should I give it up? In additional, the Constitution gives us the freedom of belief. Thought is not a crime. If a blind man sees the light, what power can pull him back to the darkness?”

Family Firmly Stands with Their Loved One

At 3 p.m. on November 7, three government officials in Hengshui City, Hebei Province broke into the home of Ms. Meng Junluo. The officials included Yang Shiyong of the township government, Zhang Qinghai, the village party secretary, and another official whose name was unknown.

Ms. Meng asked them, “Why did you come again? The fourth time!”

The officials replied, “Nothing, we just came to see you.”

Ms. Meng said to them, “I’ve been telling you all the time that we Falun Gong practitioners follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to be good people. We’ve committed no crimes. I have practiced it for 22 years and I am always healthy. What you are doing is harassment and persecution. You should stop doing such things.”

They couldn’t refute her but repeated, “We just came to see you.”

It happened that Ms. Meng’s daughter had come to see her that day. Yang pulled the younger woman aside and said, “How about you sign it for your mother, but don't tell her.” Ms. Meng's daughter replied, “No, I won't sign it. My mother won't sign it either!”

Before the officials left, they tried to take pictures of Ms. Meng, but her husband stopped them. Her daughter told the officials, “I don't practice Falun Gong, but I know Falun Gong is good. If you dare to take my mother away, take me with her.”

When the officials saw the whole family stand firmly with Ms. Meng, they left.

Before Yang came to harass Ms. Meng, he had called her older daughter and tried to ask her to persuade Ms. Meng to give up her faith.
