Australia: Clarifying the Truth to Chinese People in Sydney
(Minghui.org) Although I was born in Hong Kong, I had moved to Sydney, Australia, by the time I obtained the Fa at the end of 2012.
I was at the 2013 Western U.S. Fa Conference in Los Angeles when Master Li Hongzhi said:
“There is an increasing number of tourist groups from mainland China nowadays. This is an arrangement for people to hear the truth in a different setting. Our truth-clarification sites are, in fact, the front line—the front line for clarifying the truth.” (“Fa Teaching at the 2013 Western U.S. Fa Conference”)
After the conference, practitioners went to tourist sites to clarify the truth about Dafa to the Chinese people and the persecution in China. I also participated in this effort, but when I saw other practitioners quickly helping people to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), I felt afraid to speak with strangers.
Back home in Sydney, after participating in a large event, a few practitioners and I decided to go to the Sydney Opera House to tell people about Dafa. However, we took the wrong bus and then missed our stop when we finally got on the right bus. At that point, two practitioners decided to stay on the bus and go home. Another practitioner and I changed buses and finally arrived at our destination more than an hour later.
I talked to a young couple in the square about the evilness of the CCP. They quickly agreed to quit the CCP and its youth organizations. This was the first time I did such a thing. I knew Master Li (the founder) was encouraging me. Clarifying the truth was not as difficult as I thought it would be, and I began to gain confidence.
However, starting a conversation with people was still not easy. I tried many methods and prepared different information but felt my approach wasn't effective. I then decided to tell people my own story. My honesty and sincerity moved people, which had a good effect.
One day, I met a woman in her 50s on the train. She was from China and I told her I was from Hong Kong. She told me she liked Hong Kong. I responded that I liked China and had wanted to attend the university there when I was young, but my parents wouldn't let me.
When she asked why, I told her that it had to do with the evil nature of the CCP, including the Cultural Revolution, the Tiananmen Square Massacre on June 4, 1998, and the persecution of Falun Gong. I convinced her to quit the CCP and she did.
On another occasion, I met a young woman in her 20s. I told her that I wanted to talk to people from China because I liked them. The CCP cannot destroy the genes we got from our ancestors.
She told me that she joined the CCP youth organizations. So, I explained, the CCP is an evil spirit that killed our people during the Cultural Revolution and in the Tiananmen Square Massacre. Presently, the regime is harvesting organs from Falun Gong practitioners. I will give you the nickname Xiao Qiao, and you can use it to quit the CCP. She agreed to quit the two youth organizations.
One day, I met a lady in her 30s at a store. When she learned that I was from Hong Kong, she asked why Hong Kong citizens looked down on people from mainland China. She said her boss was from Hong Kong, and because she came from mainland China he did not promote her.
I replied, “It’s probably because your boss thought you were the same as many other Chinese people whose moral standard has deteriorated. In recent years, under the brainwashing of the CCP, many Chinese people became dishonest and often fought with each other. However, you look like you are kind. There are also many kind people who practice Falun Gong in China. They are good people.”
She said, “I have been waiting a long time for a promotion,” she said.” I don’t know when I will have another chance.”
“In traditional Chinese culture,” I said, “we believed in Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism. If you let go of your attachment to being promoted, you will feel relieved, and your mind will broaden.”
I told her about the main book of Falun Dafa Zhuan Falun and said that it contained many principles she could learn from. "Not everyone can understand this book, but I think you will." She agreed to read it.
Master has given us abilities, knowledge, and experience as we need to awaken the conscience of sentient beings. I told myself, do not be afraid. Saving people is your historical vow. Show your true self to people and communicate with your heart. They will feel your compassion and listen to you .
