(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 19 cities or counties in 12 provinces, where at least 31 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Dandong City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Facing Trial
The Zhen’an District Court notified family members of Mr. Ju Shimiao, Ms. Sun Zhongqin, and Ms. Tong Xiuhong that the three practitioners would be tried again on the morning of November 11, 2020.
Attorney Dong and Attorney Yang, from Beijing, will appear in court to make a non-guilty defense for the three practitioners.
2. [Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Yang Guofang Taken to Prison
Ms. Ying Guofang was transferred from the Ningbo City Detention Center to the Zhejiang Province Women’s Prison on the morning of November 6, 2020.
3. [Meizhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Li Yixiu Detained
Ms. Li Yixiu from Chengjiang Town, Meixian District, was again arrested by officers from the Meixian District Domestic Security Division on the morning of October 29, 2020. She was taken to the Xingning City Detention Center for 15 days of detention.
4. [Tonghe County, Heilongjiang Province] Three Practitioners Facing Trial
Ms. Zhang Xiuying, Ms. Zhang Guiyun, and Ms. Chen Shoumei were arrested on September 11, 2019. They are still being held in the Harbin City No. 2 Detention Center. They will be tried by the Yilan County Court on November 10, 2020.
5. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Deng Pingrong Arrested
Ms. Deng Pingrong was arrested at her son’s home in Xinzhou District by officers from the Sandian Police Station and the Domestic Security Division. Her current whereabouts are unknown.
6. [Zoucheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhan Lihua’s Pension Suspended
Ms. Zhan Lihua, a retired worker from the Yankuang Group Railway Transport Office, went to the bank to collect her pension on October 3, 2020. Bank clerks told her that it had not been deposited into her account. After inquiring at the Wages Section of the Railway Transport Office, she learned that her pension had been suspended.
7. [Beijing] Mr. Li Nan Arrested
Mr. Li Nan was helping his daughter take care of her child in Miyun County. He was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong and distributing Falun Gong materials. He was arrested by officers from the Chengguan Police Station.
8. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhang Jun Threatened
Sun Pengfei, principal of the No. 123 Middle School, looked for Mr. Zhang Jun on the morning of November 6, 2020. He conveyed to Mr. Zhang the latest instructions from the Education Commission that if he did not write the “Four statements” renouncing Falun Gong, his salary would be officially suspended starting November, and three months later, he will be officially dismissed from his job.
9. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Ms. Ma Jun Arrested
Ms. Ma Jun was arrested by officers from the Yanxi Road Police Station, Chengguan District, for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was taken home by the Chengguan District Domestic Security officers. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Dafa books. For the next 10 days or so, community members often went to her home to harass her.
It was reported that she was again arrested by the Lanzhou City Political and Legal Affairs Committee and the Chengguan Domestic Security Division. Her current whereabouts are unknown.
10. [Deyang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Xie Yuqiong and Husband Mr. Chen Fawan Harassed
Zhang Xianfu, deputy Party secretary of Hongbai Town, Li Honggui, an official from Xiamakou Village, went to the home of Ms. Xie Yuqiong and her husband Mr. Chen Fawan on the evening of November 4, 2020.
The two officials told the couple to sign paperwork, which was refused. Prior to this, the officials called the couple’s son five times, harassing and pressuring him to talk his parents into giving up their belief.
11. [Liaoyang City, Liaoning Province] 80-Year-old Ms. Ma Kunfang Arrested
Over 20 officers from the Domestic Security Division and the Police Department in Liaoyang County went to 80-year-old Ms. Ma Kunfang’s home and arrested her on November 6, 2020.
12. [Yiyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Han Yanli Held in Detention Center
Ms. Han Yanli in Anhua County was arrested and her home ransacked on October 19, 2020. She is being held in a detention center.
13. [Huai’an City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Zhang Cuifang and Ms. Zhou Yuxia Detained
Ms. Zhang Cuifang, 65, was arrested and taken to the city detention center, around November 3, 2020, by officers from the Zhakou Police Station, Qingjiangpu District.
Ms. Zhou Yuxia, 67, was arrested and taken to the city detention center on October 7, 2020. She was detained for 14 days, and returned home on October 21.
14. [Shanghai] Mr. Zhao Xianliu Harassed Again
Since October 31, 2020, Mr. Zhao Xianliu in Songjiang District has been harassed by officers from the Sijing Police Station again. At present, two assistant policemen were staked out at the gate of his residential community every day. When he went out, the two would follow him.
15. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Mr. Han Long Taken Into Custody
Mr. Han Long from Dongji Village, Hanji Township, High-tech Zone, was arrested by officers from the Beicheng Police Station on October 26, 2020. He was held in Dong’e County.
16. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Leng Yafang and Husband Harassed
Three officers led by Zhang Guofu from the Xingsheng Police Station, Wuchang City, went to Ms. Leng Yafang’s home on November 6, 2020.
They started video-recording as soon as they came into the door. Then they told Ms. Leng and her husband to sign the three statements, which the couple refused.
17. [Chongqing] Ms. Zeng Qingbi Harassed
On October 23, 2020, over a dozen people from the Chongqing City 610 Office, the Wulong District 610 Office, Wulong District Education Commission, Wulong District Experimental High School, and other departments located Ms. Zeng Qingbi, who is a retired teacher. These people forced her to sign paperwork renouncing Falun Gong.
18. [Yunfu City, Guangdong Province] Three Practitioners Harassed; Mr. Lai Jiawen Arrested
A group of people led by Chen Jiecong, an officer from the Yuncheng District Police Department, broke into Ms. Chen Jinfeng’s workplace at the end of October 2020, where some practitioners were studying Falun Gong teachings together. They forcibly took the practitioners’ books, materials and keys.
The Yuncheng District police and residential community personnel went to Ms. Huang Dongmei’s home and forced her to sign paperwork renouncing Falun Gong on November 2, 2020. Ms. Huang’s daughter, who was ill, held a broom at the door to prevent them from entering the house. The officers took Ms. Huang and her daughter to the police station, and held them there for several hours.
Three people from the residential community, led by Chen Jiecong, went to Mr. Ruan Guihuan’s home on November 4, 2020. They demanded Mr. Ruan to sign paperwork, which he refused. They threatened to locate and talk in person to his son who was attending college in another city. They had already harassed Mr. Ruan’s son on the phone.
Mr. Lai Jiawen was arrested by officers from the Hekou Sub-district Police Station on the morning of November 5, 2020. The officers forced him to sign paperwork. He did not return home that evening.
19. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Youying and Husband Mr. Li Wenzhong Detained; Ms. Li Yumei Harassed
Officers from the Qinhuangdao City Police Department, the Haigang District Police Department, and Shimenzhai Police Station arrived in four cars at Dongta Village on the afternoon of October 29, 2020.
The officers, along with Zhang Jinliang (a village official) and Zhang Jinbao (the village Party secretary), went to Ms. Zhang Youying’s home and harassed her. They arrested Ms. Zhang and her non-practitioner husband Mr. Li Wenzhong. The couple was taken to the Police Hospital for a physical examination. They were then taken to the Qinhuangdao City Detention Center for 15 days of detention.
Zhang Jinliang and other people went to Ms. Li Yumei’s home twice and demanded her to sign paperwork renouncing Falun Gong on October 29 and 30, 2020.
20. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhu Chunlian Arrested
When Ms. Zhu Chunlian in Qingshan District went to the entrance of Heping Park on October 19, 2020, she was arrested by Deng Gang and Zhou Yuan, deputy head of the Qingshan District Domestic Security Division, who had been waiting there. They confiscated 2,600 yuan in cash and several copies of The Ultimate Goal of Communism and Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party.
Ms. Zhu returned home after 4 p.m. that afternoon.
21. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Cui’s Case Turned Over to Procuratorate
Ms. Zhang Cui’s case was turned over to the Ganjingzi District Procuratorate on October 30, 2020. She was arrested by officers from the Longwangtang Police Station, Hi-Tech Zone, on September 16, 2020.
