(Minghui.org) I'm educated and attended university, so I felt logical thinking was one of my strong points. I feel my articles are reasonable and well argued. This should be a good thing as my thoughts are clear, but this is also a shortcoming.
Sometimes when I study the Fa thoughts of disbelief, conflicting thoughts, etc, surface. I examined myself and realized that apart from thought karma, notions, or attachments, these thoughts are caused by my stubborn, logical thinking.
Some of the Fa that Master taught requires a way of thinking that exceeds normal human logic. So when what Master says does not match my human notions or “logical thinking” I have many questions.
By studying the Fa, I understood that the human way of logical thinking was created by the Gods so we could reason and think about the things that are happening in the human realm.
This does not work for things that exceed this realm. For example, one plus one equals two in our realm but this may not be correct in another, higher realm. In fact, the logical way of thinking about quantum mechanics, topology, etc, are a bit too much for the human brain to process since the normal human way of thinking is usually very straight forward. But in another realm, logic and matters may be multi-dimensional.
The contents of some of Master’s lectures may belong to these realms of multi-dimensional or even higher realms. In that case, how can we use the human way of “logical thinking” to fully understand his teachings?
Furthermore, during the CCP’s (Chinese Communist Party) brainwashing sessions, some practitioners became confused as the bad people used twisted logic, CCP slogans and took excerpts from Master’s lectures to support their “logical thinking” to brainwash them. They caused practitioners to question what Master said, come to deviated understandings and quit their cultivation.
I deeply thought about this. Now, when I study the Fa, I make sure to eliminate my human, logical thinking that conflicts with the Fa. I can feel that such matters of disbelief or conflict with the Fa has greatly weakened.
Master said,
“The process was meant to teach people what mode of thinking to use, what structures of thought to form, how to think about the things that they encounter, and what ways of thinking to use to contemplate things. (“What is a Dafa Disciple, ”Collected Fa Teachings, Vol. XI)
Master also said,
“Human language is limited, and teaching the Fa in keeping with human thought makes it impossible to articulate the Fa in terms that encompass ideas and thinking that involve all facets and principles of all levels.” (“Teaching the Fa at the Western U.S. International Fa Conference,” Collected Fa Teachings, Vol. VII)
Master also said,
“The purpose of creating the Three Realms way back when was to have it be used by the Fa-rectification at this stage. So who would be the sentient beings in the Three Realms, what kinds of beings would be here, and what kinds of beings and what ways of existence for beings would be needed later on--which includes the beings' ways of thinking, how they conduct themselves, their cultures, and so on--all of these things would take shape over the course of history.” (“Teaching the Fa at the 2004 Western U.S. Fa Conference,” Collected Fa Teachings, Vol. V)
Master also said,
“Your thinking at that time won't have this human way of thinking or structure, that is, the thought structure of your fully-cultivated part will have been shaped according to a God's best standard. That way, the way of thinking won't be a low-level way of thinking, but you'll know everything at lower levels. ” (“Teaching the Fa at the Conference in Vancouver, Canada, in 2003,” Collected Fa Teachings, Vol.II)
This my understanding at my current cultivation level. Please kindly correct me if anything is not aligned with the Fa.
