(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 9 provinces, where at least 34 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Chen Yixin and Ms. Zheng Tianqiong Arrested

Mr. Chen Yixin and Ms. Zheng Tianqiong from the Dafeng Sub-district were arrested by officers from the Chengdu City Domestic Security on the afternoon of July 10, 2019. Ms. Zheng was released two days later. Mr. Chen is being held in the Chengdu No. 1 Detention Center. His case was turned over to the Xindu District Procuratorate.

2. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhu Ruihua Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Zhu Ruihua was arrested in August 2019. She was tried in the Hedong Detention Center on December 3, 2019, and later sentenced to five months in prison.

3. [Yinan County, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Xiuzhen Officially Arrested

Ms. Zhang Xiuzhen from Qijiadianzi Village, Hutou Town, was officially placed under arrest by the Yinan County Procuratorate on December 11, 2019.

Ms. Zhang was arrested by Hutou Police Station officers on November 13, 2019. She is being held in the Linyi Detention Center.

4. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Hong Detained

Ms. Liu Hong, who is from Shilihe Village in the Laiwu District, was arrested by officers from the Nanye Police Station on the afternoon of December 27, 2019. She is probably being held in the Laiwu District Detention Center.

5. [Chongren County, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Wang Shuping Arrested

Ms. Wang Shuping, 68, from Xiangshan Town is a new practitioner. She was arrested by the director of Xiangshan Town Police Station in October 2019. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

6. [Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhou Guirong and Ms. Bai Arrested

Ms. Zhou Guirong and Ms. Bai were arrested by Liang Yufeng, head of the Domestic Security Division, and other officers when they were talking to people about Falun Gong on the afternoon of December 31, 2019. Ms. Bei managed to escape with righteous thoughts. Ms. Zhou remains in custody.

7. [Wuqiang County, Hebei Province] Ms. Han Ling Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Han Ling, in her 70s, was arrested on May 20, 2019. She was tried twice. On December 26, 2019 she was sentenced to a two-year prison term and fined 10,000 yuan.

8. [Xinxiang City, Henan Province] Ms. Xia Shuilian, 73, Taken to Detention Center

Ms. Xia Shuilian, 73, was arrested and taken to a detention center in early October 2019 for distributing Falun Gong materials.

9. [Macheng City, Hubei Province] Mr. Luo Yaxiong Detained

Mr. Luo Yaxiong from Baiguo Town was arrested when he was distributing Falun Gong materials on December 26, 2019. He is being held in the Hanyang District Detention Center.

10. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Cases of Eight Practitioners Turned Over to Procuratorate and Court

More than 20 practitioners were monitored, followed, and then arrested by the Dalian City Political and Legal Affairs Committee in collaboration with Dalian City Domestic Security Division, and the Zhongshan District Police Department.

Cases of eight practitioners among those arrested were turned over to the Procuratorate and court:Ms. Jiang Lianxiang, 66, was sentenced to three years and three months and taken to prison on October 22, 2019.Ms. Cheng Yurong, 71, was sentenced to four years and taken to prison on October 22, 2019.Ms. Song Shuchun, 70, was sentenced to three years in prison, with four years of probation. She returned home on December 11, 2019.Ms. Wang Junying, 51, was released on bail on October 30, 2019.Ms. Song Xuecun, 69, was sentenced to an eight-year prison term. She is being held in a detention center.Ms. Xu Yanxia, 55, Ms. Chen Yuerong, 61, and Mr. Zhang Kexin, 40, were held in the detention center.

11. [Xi’an City, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Chen Wei Remains in Custody

Mr. Chen Wei is still being held in the Beilin District Detention Center.

12. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Chen Luchun Detained

Ms. Chen Luchun, 69, was arrested and her home was ransacked by officers from the Youyilu Police Station when she distributing Falun Gong informational USB flash drives on the afternoon of October 5, 2019. She was detained for ten days.

13. [Fujin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Liu Jinqin’s Home Ransacked

Ms. Liu Jinqin’s home was ransacked by people from the Fujin City Political and Legal Committee and other organizations on December 30, 2019. Her computer and Falun Gong materials were confiscated.

Mr. Zhang Qiyong was arrested and his home was ransacked by officers from the Shiyoulu Police Station in Yuzhong District in October 2019. He was officially placed under arrest.

15. [Yinchuan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region] Eight Practitioners’ Cases Turned Over to Procuratorate

Eight practitioners’ cases were turned over to the Xixia District Procuratorate. The practitioners included Mr. Na Qin, Ms. Jiang Chunmei, Ms. Xiao Yanzhi, Ms. Wang Xiuhua, Ms. Chen bo, Ms. Zhu Haiyan, Ms. Sun Fanghui, and Ms. Sun Fanghong.

Mr. Xie Nanfang (about 60), Ms. Song Xiuhua (71), and Ms. Jiang Hongying (75) were tried in the Xixia District Court on December 2, 2019. No verdicts were announced at the time.
