(Minghui.org) A Bobai County, Guangxi Province resident recently finished serving two years in prison for his faith in Falun Gong, an ancient spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Mr. Xiong Yize was arrested on November 2, 2017 by local police and 610 Office agents for sharing articles published by Minghui.org about the persecution of Falun Gong.
The 610 Office is an extralegal agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong and given power to override the justice system.
The police searched Mr. Xiong’s home four times, confiscating his Falun Gong books and materials, two cell phones and other personal belongings.
He was sentenced to two years after being incarcerated for eight months at Bobai County Detention Center.
Prior to his latest prison term, Mr. Xiong was given one and a half years of forced labor after he was arrested in 2000 for appealing for the right to practice Falun Gong in Beijing.
He was arrested again two months after he was released. He was given three more years at Guangxi No.1 Forced Labor Camp and the authorities extended his term for three months because he refused to give up his faith.
Two police officers harassed him on October 15, 2015 and took pictures of his home.
