Additional Persecution News from China – September 11, 2019 (24 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 24 cities or counties in 11provinces, where at least 43 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Beijing] Four Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Wang Baizhi, Ms. Xiao Xiaoling, and Ms. Yu Yongrong were arrested at Ms. Wang’s home by agents from the district government, the 610 Office, and officers from the Qiaozi Town Police Station on the afternoon of September 6, 2019. Ms. Wang’s computers, printers, Falun Gong books, a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, and other personal belongings were confiscated. They also took Ms. Xiao and Ms. Yu's Falun Gong books and audio players.

Ms. Hu Xiurong, 61, from the Tongzhou District, was arrested at home on September 6. Police confiscated her Falun Gong books and a picture of Falun Gong's founder. Ms. Hu is being held in the Tongzhou Detention Center.

2. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Mr. Shang Chunguang Arrested

Mr. Shang Chunguang was arrested at home by several officers from the Zhunyi Police Station on the evening of August 29, 2019. His home was ransacked, and computers, cell phones, an MP3, and Falun Gong books were confiscated. Mr. Shang was held in the police station over night, and released after 5:00 p.m. the next day. 

3. [Songyuan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Yaru and Other Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Zhang Yaru and another practitioner are being held in the Sanbaidong Police Station. Ms. Zhang's home was ransacked.

The Ningjiang District police arrested a practitioner on the morning of September 10, 2019. They ransacked her home and confiscated a computer and a copy of Zhuan Falun. That same afternoon another practitioner was arrested, and their home was ransacked.

4. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Five Practitioners Arrested; Another Practitioner's Home Ransacked

Ms. Dong Lijuan, Mr. Zhang Lixin, practitioner Lu, and practitioner Liu were arrested at home by officers from the Erdao Police Department on August 22, 2019. They were taken to the Weizigou Detention Center for 15 days, but are still being held there.

Ms. Li Guilin was arrested on the morning of September 9, for distributing Falun Gong materials in Fufeng Town in the Chaoyang District, Changchun.

Police ransacked the home of Ms. Daxiang from the Changchun Economics Development District on the evening of September 9 when she was not there.

5. [Dehui City, Jilin Province] Mr. Ji Guoxiang Sentenced to a Six-Year Prison Term

Mr. Ji Guoxiang was arrested on March 7, 2018. He has been sentenced to a six-year prison term.

6. [Nanchong City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Huang Zhiping Arrested

Ms. Huang Zhiping was arrested by Domestic Security Division officers on September 9, 2019.

7. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Jia Qiongying Arrested

Ms. Jia Qiongying from Tongfu Village, Jinma Town in the Wenjiang District, was arrested by community agents on the morning of August 21, 2019, for distributing Falun Gong materials in Zhoujiachang, the Shuangliu District.

Ms. Jia was taken to the Jiujiang Police Station in Shuangliu, and held there for six hours. She was then transferred to the Jinma Police Station, where she was held for another hour before being released. During that hour, Yang Yong from the Jinma Armed Department, Chen Mingshong from Tongfu Village, and others ransacked her home.

8. [Luzhou City, Sichuan Province] Three Practitioners Sentenced; Another Four Arrested

Ms. Zhang Yuanhua was sentenced to a three-and-a-half-year prison term by the Hejiang County Court. She was secretly taken to the Longquan Women’s Prison in Chengdu City in late August, 2019. Ms. Gao Xianying and Ms. Zou Mingying were sentenced at the same time. Their situation is unknown.

Ms. Tang Zuqun, Ms. Zhang Xinglian, Ms. Ao Qizhen, and Ms. Peng Zhaoqun were arrested at home on the morning of September 10. They were taken to the Longtouguan Police Station.

9. [Dezhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Yugui Arrested

Ms. Liu Yugui, 83, from Pingyuan County, was followed by the police on August 31, 2019, after she was seen talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Twelve officers harassed her at home that afternoon and arrested her. She was released on bail, and ordered not to go anywhere without informing the police.

10. [Longkou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Lin Qiuxiang Arrested

Ms. Lin Qiuxiang from Xilinjia Village was repeatedly harassed at her home by officers from the Qijia Town Police Station in early September 2019. Under orders from the Longkou Domestic Security Division, they arrested her and took her to a detention center.

Ms. Lin as released after she failed the physical exam.

11. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Song Jiling Arrested

Ms. Song Jilin from the Qingdao Development District was arrested in front of her home by six officers who were waiting there on the afternoon of September 10, 2019. She may have been taken to the Changjianglu Police Station.

12. [Jiaozhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Du Shifen Arrested

Ms. Du Shifen was arrested by officers from the Jiaolai Police Station on the evening of September 9, 2019.

13. [Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Wang Weibin's Family Receive Arrest Warrant

Mr. Wang Weibin was arrested by personnel from the Zhuhai City Political and Legal Affairs Committee, Domestic Security Division, and the 610 Office on July 12, 2019. His family received the arrest warrant on August 19.

He was arrested with more than twenty other practitioners.

14. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Cheng Lan Arrested; Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Cheng Lan, in her late 60s, was arrested by officers from the Qixia District Domestic Security Division and agents from the 610 Office on the morning of August 30, 2019. Her whereabouts are unknown.

15. [Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Li Xiying Arrested

Ms. Li Xiying, around 60 years old, from Shanghuang Town, Liyang City, was reported to the authorities for distributing information about Falun Gong. She was arrested by officers from the Shanghuang Police Station

16. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wu Jiuying Arrested

Ms. Wu Jiuying from Quzhou County was arrested by officers from the Tunzhuangying Police Station on September 8, 2019, for posting information about Falun Gong in the Feixiang District.

17. [Kaifeng City, Henan Province] Additional News on Mr. Jia Zhongmin and His Wife Ms. Zhang Yuping

Mr. Jia Zhongmin and his wife Ms. Zhang Yuping from Ji County were arrested at home by officers from the Ji Domestic Security Division and the Shawo Township Police Station on the morning of August 16, 2019. Their home was ransacked, and personal belongings were confiscated. Their daughter, who is married, was arrested at the same time, but was released that afternoon.

The officers ransacked their home again the next day.

Mr. Jia is being held in the Ji Detention Center. Ms. Zhang is being held in the Kaifeng Detention Center.

18. [Xianning City, Hubei Province] Mr. Liu Shehong and His Wife Ms. Zhao Xiujuan Arrested

Mr. Liu Shehong and his wife Ms. Zhao Xiujuan have been arrested.

19. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Ms. Liu Xuyao Detained

Ms. Liu Xuyao from Qidong County, Hengyang City lives in Changsha City. She is being held in the Changsha Second Detention Center.

Ms. Liu is on a hunger strike, and is physically weak.

20. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Lijuan Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Zhang Lijuan has been sentenced to prison, after being arrested with Ms. Yang on April 18, 2019.

21. [Tianjin] Mr. Wang Junzhou Arrested

Mr. Wang Junzhou from Kangping County, Shenyang City was arrested by officers from the Eco City Police Department on September 5, 2019, on his way home from work.

Mr. Wang works as a security guard in the Binhai Eco City.

22. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Liu Wei Arrested

Mr. Liu Wei was arrested by six plainclothes officers and officers from the Domestic Security Division on the morning of September 10, 2019.

23. [Chongqing] Ms. Mei Arrested

Ms. Mei, around 80 years old, was arrested at home by eight or nine officers on the morning of September 6, 2019. Her home was ransacked, and Falun Gong books were confiscated. Ms. Mei was taken to the Shiyoulu Police Station for interrogation. She was released later that evening.

24. [Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Ma Lingling Arrested

Ms. Ma Lingling, a retiree from the 795 Factory, was arrested by officers from the Huagongxu Police Station in the Weicheng District.
