(Minghui.org) On August 22, 2019, six Falun Gong practitioners in Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province, were sentenced to prison for refusing to give up their faith.

Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

The six practitioners were arrested in a sweep in November 2018 by officers from Daoli Police Station.

The prosecutor at Daoli District Procuratorate returned their cases to the police for additional evidence twice before submitting them to Daoli District Court in early June 2019.

The practitioners appeared in court on July 23 and were convicted on August 22, 2019.

Ms. Xu Xiaoying was sentenced to 4 years and fined 10,000 yuan. She appealed the verdict to Harbin City Intermediate Court on September 3, 2019.

Ms. Fan Rong was sentenced to 3.5 years and fined 5,000 yuan.

Ms. Zhu Chunrong received 2.5 years and fined 3,000 yuan.

Mr. Li Rui got 1.5 years with 3,000 yuan fine.

Mr. Gao Guoqing and Ms. Jiang Xiaojie both received 1 year, with 3,000 yuan and 1,000 yuan fine, respectively.
