(Minghui.org) A 72-year-old woman whose cancer was cured by practicing Falun Gong is now imprisoned for telling people about her miraculous recovery.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Wang Xiaozhi, a resident of Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province, used to suffer from a severe heart condition and liver cancer. She was at one time so weak that she wasn't even able to pick up her rice bowl. Her husband worked out of town. Her young adult son was her only caregiver.
Ms. Wang was introduced to Falun Gong in the 1990s. She did the exercises and disciplined herself by the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance. Her symptoms soon disappeared.
She wasn't able to enjoy a happy life for too long because the communist regime began to persecute of Falun Gong in 1999. Because of not giving up her faith, she was arrested and detained twice prior to her latest imprisonment.
Ms. Wang was arrested on May 10, 2018 for the third time after being reported for telling people about how Falun Gong cured her cancer.
The police ransacked her home and sent her to Chaoyang City Detention Center. She shared a 645 sq ft room with 35 other inmates. She was forced to wear a winter jacket in the hot summer. The guards also forced her to recite prison rules, watch propaganda videos and sing propaganda songs.
At every major holiday, the guards thoroughly searched their room and stripped their clothes to check if they kept anything related to Falun Gong. They were also given limited time taking showers and using the restroom. Ms. Wang wasn't allowed to wash herself the entire winter.
After nearly one year of detention, Ms. Wang was sentenced to five years in prison by Longcheng Court. She has been sent to Liaoning Women's Prison on March 18, 2019.
Her husband, who has a heart condition, is very worried about her.
