(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 18 cities or counties in 11 provinces, where at least 32 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Chen Xiuhua and Ms. Yan Chunhua's Cases Passed to Procuratorate

Ms. Chen Xiuhua and Ms. Yan Chunhua from Qingling Township in the Shuangcheng District were arrested by officers from the Lianxing Township Police Station on April 24, 2019. Both practitioners were taken to the Harbin City No. 2 Detention Center.

They were officially placed under arrest on June 30, and their cases have been turned over to the Daoli District Procuratorate.

2. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Ren Yuhong Arrested and Hospitalized

Ms. Ren Yuhong was arrested by officers from the Longnan Police Department on July 10, 2019. She developed illness symptoms as a result of mistreatment in custody, and was taken to the Longnan Hospital. Three or four police officers were stationed to monitor her.

3. [Shanghai] Ms. Yang Chunmei Detained

Ms. Yang Chunmei from Daqing City in Heilongjiang Province was arrested in Shanghai in early 2018. She was taken to the Fengxian District Detention Center in Shanghai.

4. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Song Yanqun Arrested

Ms. Song Yanqun was arrested by officers from the Nancheng Police Station on July 13, 2019, for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was taken to the Jilin City Detention Center, and has since been released.

5. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Wu Chunhua was arrested by officers from the Dalian High-tech Park Police Station and the Lansha SWAT Team on July 10, 2019. Her computer, printer, paper, and paper cutter were confiscated. Ms. Wu was taken to the Yaojia Detention Center.

Ms. Yu Yinghua from the Lushunkou District was arrested at home on the evening of July 11. Her home was ransacked.

Ms. Liang Shengmei was recently arrested, and is being held in the Yaojia Detention Center.

6. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Baohua Arrested

Ms. Zhang Baohua was arrested at work on July 10, 2019.

7. [Beijing] Ms. Xu Xiufen and Ms. Liu Ruixiang Arrested

Ms. Xu Xiufen from the Fangshan District was arrested by officers from the Liangxiang Town Police Station on April 19, 2019. She was officially placed under arrest on May 30 by the Fangshan Police Department. Ms. Xu went on a hunger strike in the detention center and was handcuffed, shackled, and force-fed.

Ms. Liu Ruixiang from the Yuanding Residential Community in the Pinggu District was arrested by officers from Xinggu Police Station on July 5. A computer, cell phone, Falun Gong books, and photos of the founder of Falun Gong were confiscated.

8. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Ms. Guo Hongyuan and Ms. Chen Xiaohong Detained

Ms. Guo Hongyuan and Ms. Chen Xiaohong were arrested on the evening of July 14, 2019, for talking to people about Falun Gong. They are being held in the Haihelu Police Station.

9. [Tai’an City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Zhihua and His Wife Ms. Bian Xueyun Arrested

Mr. Wang Zhihua and his wife, Ms. Bian Xueyun, were arrested by officers from Daizongfang Police Station in the morning on July 12, 2019. A computer, printer, Falun Gong books and materials were confiscated. The couple was later released.

10. [Liquan County, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Yuan Huiwu Detained

Mr. Yuan Huiwu went to the home of a practitioner with the family name Huang in the High-tech Zone, Xi’an City, to do renovation work on July 12, 2019. He was arrested by officers from the High-tech Zone Domestic Security Division, who were staked out there. The officers confiscated a bank card, cash, Falun Gong books, and photos of the founder of Falun Gong.

Mr. Yuan is being held in the Sanyao Detention Center in Xi’an.

11. [Shanghai] Ms. Zhang Arrested, Ms. Cao Sentenced, and Ms. Pei's Case Passed Over to the Court

Ms. Zhang Meizhen from the Pudong New Area was arrested and her home ransacked on July 15, 2019.

Ms. Cao Lingmei from Chuansha Town in the Pudong New Area was arrested January 14, 2018. She was sentenced to a 19-month prison term by the Fengxian District Court on the afternoon of July 15, 2019.

Ms. Pei Shanzhen from the Jing’an District had her case recently turned over to the Jing’an District Court for prosecution.

12. [Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Xie Sujuan Arrested

Ms. Xie Sujuan was arrested by officers from the Huazhuang Town Police Station in the Binhu District on July 4, 2019. Her home was ransacked, and a notebook computer, cell phone, and Falun Gong books were confiscated. She has since returned home.

13. [Huangshi City, Hubei Province] Mr. Chen Dicai Brutally Beaten During Interrogation

Mr. Chen Dicai was arrested by officers from the Hongqiqiao Police Station in the Huangshigang District at around 11:00 p.m. on July 3, 2019. In an attempt to force a confession from him, the officers took turns interrogating him for three days. He was violently beaten.

Mr. Chen was taken to the Huangshi City Detention Center.

14. [Zhongxiang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Wu Zhengping Detained

Ms. Wu Zhengping was recently arrested by officers from the Jiuli Police Station when she was talking to people about Falun Gong. She is being held in the Zhongxiang City Detention Center.

15. [Jingzhou City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhao Kunli and Mr. Huang Handong Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Zhao Kunli and Mr. Huang Handong were arrested on September 20, 2017. They were sentenced a year later. Ms. Zhao was given a 14-month prison term, and Mr. Huang was given a one-year prison term. Both practitioners are being held in the Chengximen Detention Center.

16. [Santou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Xu Muqun's Appeal Denied

Mr. Xu Muqun, a teacher at Lianyang Middle School in the Chenghai District, was sentenced to a four-year prison term and fined 3,000 yuan by the Chenghai Court. He appealed to the Santou City Intermediate Court, but the original verdict was upheld on June 26, 2019.

17. [Qianxi County, Guizhou Province] Mr. Liu Zhongmin Arrested

Mr. Liu Zhongmin was arrested on July 11, 2019. His home was ransacked.

18. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Chen Yixing, Mr. Zheng Tianqun, Ms. Huang Meirong, Mr. Peng Chi’an, and Mr. Zhang Peng were arrested on July 10, 2019.

19. [Chengde City, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Jianhua Detained

Ms. Liu Jianhua was arrested at home by officers from the Shuangqiao District Domestic Security Division on July 11, 2019. Her Falun Gong books and printed materials were confiscated.

Ms. Liu was taken to the Chengde City Detention Center.
