(Minghui.org) A Hengyang County, Hunan Province resident was arrested on August 22, 2019 after being reported for distributing information about Falun Gong, a spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
The police brought Mr. Liu Liangsong, 70, to the local police department after ransacking his home and confiscating his Falun Gong books and related materials. They took his picture and interrogated him.
The police later transferred Mr. Liu to a local detention facility and told his family that he would be held there for 13 days.
This August marks the 24-year anniversary of Mr. Liu’s practicing Falun Gong after being introduced to it at the construction site he worked at. He was drawn to Falun Gong's principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and has since been living by them.
Living in a small village that lacks government funding for infrastructure improvement, he volunteered to repair a road himself and also made significant contributions to repairing another road and fighting the drought.
When Mr. Liu worked at a hog farm, the manager made a mistake and gave him an extra 10,000 yuan in salary. He returned the money and said he couldn’t take it because he practices Falun Gong.
Because he refuses to give up the faith that enables him to become a better person, he has been arrested more than ten times and had his home ransacked four times. He was also sent to brainwashing centers twice and given one year of forced labor.
