(Minghui.org) Eight older Falun Gong practitioners were harassed for their faith, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

The eight practitioners, residents of Dazhou City, Sichuan Province, were harassed between June 12-15, 2019. The police threatened to arrest them if they continue practicing Falun Gong. The officers also took the practitioners’ pictures and attempted to force them to sign a guarantee statement to not practice Falun Gong.

The eight practitioners are: Ms. Liu Zhaozhen, 92; Mr. Zhang Shaojiu, 89; Ms. Tan Yuzhen, 76; Ms. Chen Fuzhen, 76; Ms. Qin Jingquan, 75; Ms. Tang Yuting, 67; Ms. Cheng Taiqing, 66; and Ms. Chen Xueqiong, 65.

Two more residents, including Mr. Shou Lingyuan, 81, and Ms. Liao Fengju, 75, who had already given up the practice of Falun Gong many years ago, were also harassed.

Repeated Harassment of Ms. Tang Yuting

In particular, Ms. Tang has been subjected to repeated harassment by the police.

She was doing laundry when the police suddenly broke into her home on June 15. She had just returned home a few days before, after living with her daughter in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province for more than a year.

The police interrogated Ms. Tang for more than one hour, asking whether she still practiced Falun Gong, where she had been and what she has done in the past year. They attempted to force her to sign the interrogation record, but she refused to comply.

On June 27, the police returned and interrogated Ms. Tang again. They said that they had found that Ms. Tang had traveled to Hong Kong twice during the time she lived with her daughter.

While Ms. Tang said she went there for vacation, the police still attempted to get her to reveal what else she had done over there. They also ordered her to sign the interrogation form again. She still refused to comply. The police left one hour later.
