Following Dafa's Principles at Work

(Minghui.org) I am a plumber and responsible for resident plumbing maintenance in our company. I started practicing Falun Dafa at the end of 1995, which makes it more than 20 years since I stepped into Dafa.

The fake products, deception, and intrigue are common everywhere in today's China. I used to be a selfish and self-interested person before I practiced Falun Dafa. I used various methods to gain interest, including cheating the residents by selling inferior products at best quality prices.

Since practicing Falun Dafa, I have been following Dafa's principles, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and no longer seek unjust gains. Also, I accept any assignment, whenever I am needed, no matter who makes the call, or the weather condition. I take the initiative to help those who are old, weak, ill, or disabled. I help them buy the materials and repair free of charge. My character has improved because of Dafa cultivation. I always remember I am a Dafa practitioner.

“These Few Words Really Work.”

Once, I repaired the water pipe for a resident who suffered from severe heart disease. I helped him buy the materials and fixed the water pipe problem. He was very pleased and invited me to dine out.

I said: “I practice Falun Dafa. I don't take advantage of others. Thank you for your kindness.” Seeing his suffering, I said to him: “You have a heart problem. You can repeat in your heart: ‘Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good’. It will help you.” He accepted.

When I went to work at his home the next time, he held my hand excitedly and said: “Those words you taught me really worked! My heart feels much better now.”

Practitioners Behavior Shows the Goodness of Dafa

The residents often gave us cigarettes when we were working at their homes. I refused if I was alone. But, sometimes I went with a co-worker, I would accept it and return it later.

Once I returned a pack of cigarettes to a resident. He didn't understand. He told me a pack of a cigarette didn’t account for much.

I explained and said, “I am a Falun Dafa practitioner. The practice teaches me how to be a better person and follow the principles Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. I cannot take advantage of others.”

He was surprised and said, “If everyone acts like Falun Dafa practitioners, this society would be much better. I did not know much about Falun Dafa. From your deeds, I can tell this practice must be good. I respect your choice.”

“You Should Be Selected As a Model Worker”

In the past, I did not know much about electrical work. I had to ask someone to help if I needed to install a wire socket. After practicing Falun Dafa, I became smarter. My skills improved. I can solve mostly all the problems at work. Now, I can do some electrical, and bricklaying work too. Sometimes, when I repaired water pipes, the cabinets needed to be disassembled. I took care of that, even though they were not in the scope of my responsibility. The customers usually were pleased. Then I would tell them about Falun Dafa. I showed the goodness of Falun Dafa to them.

Every year my company awards the model worker. Even though I work more than others, I never seek any award. In this society, if you want to be a model worker, you need to give your managers gifts and have a good relationship with them. Many of my co-workers are supporting me, saying: “This model worker award should be yours. But, in society without money, you cannot do anything.”

If I did not practice, I would go to managers to complain about the unfairness. Dafa principles teach me how to be a good person.

I work hard, and think of others first, demonstrating the goodness of Falun Dafa.

I have been practicing Dafa for more than 20 years, and I have been working in plumbing for more than 10 years. I hold this position because I have a chance to clarify the truth about Dafa to my customers

My customers often tell me: “Drop by when you have time.” “Can we become friends? You are a good person.” They all know I am a Falun Dafa practitioner and follow Dafa's principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
