Additional Persecution News from China – June 20, 2019 (14 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 9 provinces，where at least 19 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Pingjiang County, Hunan Province] Mr. Li Xunqing and Daughter Ms. Li Hui Held in Custody

Mr. Li Xunqing was arrested by officers from the Sandun Township Police Station on June 12, 2019. His daughter Ms. Li Hui was also arrested at that time.

Mr. Li was taken to the Xinyuanshanzhuang Brainwashing Center on June 14. Ms. Li was taken to the Yunxi Detention Center, located in Yueyang City.

2. [Emeishan City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Wang Ping Arrested

Mr. Wang Ping went to the Binhelu Police Station to tell officers about Falun Gong on the morning of June 14, 2019. He was arrested. His home was ransacked that afternoon.

3. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Ms. Qiao Naran Taken to Prison

Ms. Qiao Naran from Wangying Village, Ziwen Township, Anping County, was taken to the Shijiazhuang Women’s Prison on June 3, 2019.

Ms. Qiao was arrested by Sun Yihe and other officers from the Anping County Domestic Security Division on December 31, 2018. She was tried and given a two-year-and-six-month prison term by the Anping County Court on January 29, 2019.

4. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhao Changfu Secretly Tried, Is Now Physically Weak

Mr. Zhao Changfu was secretly tried by the Xidayingzi Court, Chaoyang City, on June 5, 2019. His family was not notified. He was taken back to the Lingyuan City Detention Center from the Chaoyang City Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital on June 17. He is currently physically weak.

5. [Shanghai] Ms. Zhang Fengqun Arrested

Ms. Zhang Fengqun was arrested by officers from the Pudong New Area Domestic Security Division and the 610 Office on June 19, 2019.

6. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Yu Chunsheng Taken into Custody

Mr. Yu Chunsheng, 61, was arrested by officers from the North Railway Station Police Station when he was boarding the train at the Shenyang North Railway Station on June 19, 2019. He was held in the police station that night. His family went to the police station and asked to visit Mr. Yu, but the police refused. Mr. Yu was transferred to the Railway Police Department’s Detention Center that evening after making a recorded statement at the police station.

7. [Fuyang City, Anhui Province] Mr. Cao Dingrong and Two Other Practitioners Arrested

Elderly Mr. Cao Dingrong from Yingdong District was arrested by officers from the Qinghelu Police Station when he was talking to people about Falun Gong on June 12, 2019. His home was ransacked. Ms. Han Yulan and another practitioner with the last name Chen were also arrested at the same time at Mr. Cao’s home. Ms. Han and Chen were detained for seven days. Mr. Cao was taken to the detention center, which refused to admit him for health reasons. He was released on bail.

8. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Mr. Ma Lingxi Detained

Practitioner Mr. Ma Lingxi from Xinli Township was arrested by four officers from the Yushu City Domestic Security Division on the morning of June 17, 2019. He was detained for five days at the Yushu City Detention Center.

9. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Practitioner Fu Held in Custody

A practitioner with the last name Fu was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong. Fu was arrested by officers from the Taiyangcheng Police Station on the afternoon of June 18, 2019. Practitioner Fu is being held in the Qinhuangdao City Detention Center.

10. [Pingquan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Shuwen and Wife Ms. Liu Yulan Taken into Custody

Mr. Wang Shuwen, 64, and his wife Ms. Liu Yulan, 65, from the No. 15 Group, Dudaiyingzi Village, Qijiadai Township, were arrested by Li Zhenge, deputy director of the Pingquan Town Police Station, and a dozen or so other officers on June 18, 2019 for talking to people about Falun Gong. The couple were taken to the police station, where they were interrogated. They were taken to the Pingquan City Police Department’s Detention Center that evening.

After taking the physical exam, Ms. Liu was released that evening as her blood pressure reading reached 215/120 mmHg. The officers ransacked their home that evening, and confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong, a sound player, Falun Gong informational DVDs, couplets, and paintings.

Mr. Wang was detained for 15 days.

11. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Nie Bihua Held in Custody

Ms. Nie Bihua is being held in the Kunming City Detention Center.

12. [Jieyang City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Zhong Liena Taken to Prison

Ms. Zhong Liena was reported to the police when she distributed Falun Gong materials in Xichang Town, Jiedong District, on June 19, 2017. She was arrested by officers from the Xichang Town Police Station, and held in the Jiedong District Detention Center. She was later given a three-year prison term by the Jiedong District Court, and taken to the Guangdong Province Women’s Prison in June 2018.

13. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Ms. Gao Xiaofang Held in Custody

Ms. Gao Xiaofang from Pingzhuang Village, Yuanbaoshan District, was arrested on June 17, 2019. Her home was ransacked. She is being held in the Dayingzi Detention Center, Chaoyang District, Liaoning Province.

14. [Songming County, Yunnan Province] Ms. Wu Guixian and Another Practitioner Arrested

Ms. Wu Guixian and another female practitioner named Xiaoli were arrested on the evening of June 16, 2019 after Ms. Pei Yanfang was arrested. The police ransacked the practitioners’ homes but did not find anything. The practitioners were still placed under criminal detention on June 17.
