Additional Persecution News from China – May 20, 2019 (13 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 14 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Du He Detained

Mr. Du He was arrested by officers from the Puyangjie Police Station on October 12, 2018. His arrest was approved in December 2018 and his case was brought to court. He is currently being held at the Changchun No. 2 Detention Center and his health is critical with extremely high blood pressure.

2. [Tianjin] Ms. Luo Fangling Detained

Ms. Luo Fangling, a deputy chief physician and master tutor of the emergency department of the Binhaixin District Chinese Medicine Hospital, was arrested by officers from the Tianjin Domestic Security Division and the Xinbei Police Station in the Tanggu District on April 19, 2019. The police confiscated computers, cell phones, and other personal belongings. The confiscated items are valued at approximately 9,000 yuan. Ms. Luo was held at the Zhaojiadi Detention Center for 15 days.

Ms. Luo was later fired from her job and has no other income.

3. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Tan Xiuying Arrested

Ms. Tan Xiuying was arrested by officers from the Hongqi Police Station on May 14, 2019, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong.

4. [Fuping County, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Zhenxi Detained

Mr. Wang Zhenxi was arrested at home by officers from the Fuping County Police Department and the Pingyang Town Police Station on April 22, 2019. He was released after being detained for eight days.

5. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhao Huanzhen Detained

Ms. Zhao Huanzhen was arrested by officers from the Pingfang Police Station in Suizhong County on May 19, 2019, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Ms. Zhao is currently being held in the Suizhong County Detention Center.

6. [Yuanping City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Zhang Guoping and Ms. Jin Haien Persecuted

Police ransacked the homes of Ms. Zhang Guoping and Ms. Jin Haien and confiscated computers, printers, printing paper, etc. Also confiscated was 180,000 yuan in cash and bank books belonging to Ms. Zhang.

7. [Nanyang City, Henan Province] Ms. Qiao Weidong Arrested

Ms. Qiao Weidong, 50, was arrested at home and had her home ransacked by officers from the Hongni Town Police Station on May 16, 2019.

8. [Zherong County, Fujian Province] Mr. You Canliang Arrested

Mr. You Canliang was arrested by offices from the Zherong County Police Department on May 1, 2019.

9. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Wan Dajiu Detained

Mr. Wan Dajiu was arrested by officers from the Zhougong Police Station in Hanyang District on May 6, 2019. He is currently being held at the Yusunshan Brainwashing Center.

10. [Chongqing] Mr. Tang Bin Detained

Mr. Tang Bin, arrested in February 2019, is still being held at the Fusheng Detention Center.

11. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Shan Qinshu Tried

Ms. Shan Qinshu was arrested at home by officer Song Zhenghe from the Sujiatun District Domestic Security Division on December 8, 2018. She was tried on May 23, 2019.

12. [Wafangdian, Liaoning Province] Mr. Xie Bing Detained

Officers from the Jiamusi City Police Department put Mr. Xie Bing on a nationwide wanted list in 2005, for making small audio players.

Mr. Xie was arrested by officers from the Taiyuanjie Police Station on May 13, 2019, and taken to Jiamusi City two days later. He has not been allowed family visits.

13. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Wen Juping Sentenced to Eight Year Prison Term

Mr. Wen Juping, 69, was arrested on May 21, 2018 after being found through surveillance cameras. He was arrested for putting up posters with information about Falun Gong. The police confiscated ten cellphones from him, which he used to make more than 10,000 automated phone calls to Chinese people to expose the persecution of Falun Gong.

Mr. Wen was tried by the Longquanyi District Court in Chengdu City on April 28, 2019. It was recently confirmed that he was sentenced to eight years in prison.
