Becoming an Honest Tofu Seller
(Minghui org) I am a Falun Dafa practitioner in my 60s and live in a village. I have a booth where I sell tofu.
In the past I suffered from severe headaches. When I experienced a headache I could not get up, eat, or drink for several days. I also had pain in my feet. A Chinese medicine doctor told me that I had rheumatism and there was nothing he could do about it. My poor health made me depressed. I felt I was too young to have such bad health.
In addition to my poor health, my personality was not good. I was selfish. When I sold tofu I often provided erroneous invoices to restaurant managers. I lied about the amount and weight of the tofu. I was only interested in making more money and was not bothered by being dishonest.
I began practicing Falun Dafa in 1999, recovered from my illnesses, and became a good person. I now think of others first and am kind and honest. When I have conflicts with others, I am much more tolerant.
I explained to those who I had previously cheated with falsified invoices, why it was wrong. I told them about Falun Dafa and how it requires us to be good people. I apologized for my previous behavior of issuing incorrect invoices. They understood and continued to buy tofu from me.
I use the traditional way of making tofu, and people prefer the taste. My tofu sells fast to local customers as well as customers from other towns.
Another booth owner who sells tofu became jealous of my business. Her booth was originally behind me, but she moved it in front of me. I did not argue with her, even when she took my customers away from me. She did her best to make me look bad. It made me feel sad, but I knew it was an opportunity for me to let go of my aggression attachment. I remembered Master Li Hongzhi’s teaching and became calm and never fought with anyone. I am a healthy person – mentally and physically.
