Additional Persecution News from China – April 18, 2019 (16 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 10 provinces, where at least 32 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief. Of these practitioners, the whereabouts of 6 are unknown.

1. [Chongqing] Ms. Deng Meiling and Mr. Jiang Chengliang Arrested

Ms. Deng Meiling, 65, and Mr. Jiang Chengliang, 75, from Shiqiaopu Town, were arrested when they were distributing information about Falun Gong in the Sunjiayan area, Shapingba District, on the afternoon of February 28, 2019. They were held in the Shibanpo No. 1 Detention Center. Mr. Jiang has returned home.

Ms. Yu Xiuhua and Ms. Li Jiahui, from Shiqiaopu Town, who were arrested earlier, were also held at the same detention center.

2. [Jining City, Shandong Province] Mr. Yuan Xianting Arrested

Mr. Yuan Xianting, 63, was arrested on the morning of April 17, 2019.

3. [Wuyishan City, Fujian Province] Two Practitioners Arrested

Two practitioners, one about 50, and the other one over 40, were followed and arrested by officers from the Wuyishan City Domestic Security Division when they were talking to people about Falun Gong on April 10, 2019. The officers found one of the practitioner's keys and vandalized the computers and printers they used to make brochures about the persecution.

The local Domestic Security officers also went to one of the practitioner's home and ransacked it. The practitioner's family learned only then that the two practitioners were arrested. It was reported that they were taken to the Nanping area Detention Center on April 15.

4. [Xuchang City, Henan Province] Mr. Liao Jianjun Arrested

Mr. Liao Jianjun was arrested at work by officers from the Suqiao Town Police Station, Jian'an District, on the morning of April 17, 2019. The officers took Mr. Liao to his home and ransacked it in the afternoon. They confiscated a printer and a computer, among other things. Mr. Liao's whereabouts are unknown.

5. [Laishui County, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhao Xiliang and Four Other Practitioners Arrested

Several practitioners from Shiting Town were arrested at noon on April 12, 2019. Mr. Yan Yong, Ms. Jiang Shuxian, Ms. Yang Xifang, Ms. Yu Fengyun, and Mr. Zhao Xiliang are being held in the Laishui County Detention Center.

The officers ransacked Mr. Zhao's home when arresting him. They confiscated Falun Dafa books and a computer.

The officers went to arrest Mr. Liu Zecun, but he was not at home. They ransacked his home and confiscated Falun Dafa books, copies of Minghui Weekly, a computer, and several hundred yuan in cash.

6. [Fuyu County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zuo Dexiu and Three Other Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Zuo Dexiu and Ms. Zeng Fenglian were arrested at home in the early morning hours of April 17, 2019. Ms. Yan Xiulan and Mr. Li Shusheng from Dongsheng Village, Erdaowan Town, were also arrested at the same time. Mr. Li has since returned home. The other three practitioners' whereabouts are unknown.

7. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Meng Zhaomei Arrested

Ms. Meng Zhaomei from Changle County was arrested by officers from the Changle County Domestic Security Division and the Chengxi Police Station on the morning of April 17, 2019. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Gong books and an mp4 player, among other items. Ms. Meng is being held in the police station.

8. [Shaoguan City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Mao Zudi Arrested

Ms. Mao Zudi was arrested by officers from the Political and Legal Affairs Committee, 610 Office, the Domestic Security Division, and the Comprehensive Management Office in Qujiang District at noon on April 17, 2019. Her whereabouts are unknown. The 610 Office attempted several time to take her to the Sanshui Brainwashing Center.

9. [Gulin County, Sichuan Province] Homes of Ms. Liu Yingqun and Two Other Practitioners Ransacked

The homes of Ms. Liu Yingqun, Mr. Fu Guixian, and Ms. Liu Daiqiong were ransacked by eight people including Taiping Town government personnel, Li, director of the Taiping Town Police Station, and Liu Yonghua, head of the Zouma Village, on April 6, 2019. Photos of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Dafa books, and printed materials were confiscated.

10. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhen Mingfeng and Ms. Liu Shumei Arrested

Ms. Zhen Mingfeng, in her 80s, and Ms. Liu Shumei, in her 70s, were arrested at home by officers from the Shouguang City Domestic Security Division and the Shengcheng Police Station on the afternoon of April 17, 2019. Their homes were ransacked. The two elderly practitioners have been arrested several times since last year.

11. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Liu Kexing Taken into Custody

Mr. Liu Kexing was followed by plainclothes officers when he distributed information about Falun Gong on the afternoon of April 15, 2019. A group plainclothes officers then broke into Mr. Liu's home and ransacked it. They confiscated all of his Falun Dafa books, and even took photos of his family members. Mr. Liu was taken to the Xiangdimeijing Detention Center by the Domestic Security Division that evening.

12. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yao Yan Taken into Custody

Ms. Yao Yan was arrested when she went out to talk to others about Falun Gong on April 11, 2019. Her home was ransacked. She was held in the Hedong Detention Center.

13. [Beijing] Mr. Li Jianjun Arrested

Mr. Li Jianjun from the Jiazhou Town Residential Community, Tongzhou District, was arrested by officers from the Tongzhou District Domestic Security in early March 2019. He is being held in the Tongzhou Detention Center. His mother was under great stress and had to be hospitalized.

14. [Hailin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Qi Huiling Arrested

Ms. Qi Huiling was arrested when she talked to people about Falun Gong on April 15, 2019.

15. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Mr. Zhang Xiwen Officially Arrested

Mr. Zhang Xiwen, 63, was arrested on March 28, 2019. His home was ransacked by officers from the Yuelu District Domestic Security Division. A large amount of personal items were confiscated. Mr. Zhang was taken to the Changsha City No. 4 Detention Center on March 29, and was officially arrested on April 12.

Ms. Wei Yuzhen was arrested at her brother's home by officers from the Nanzhao County Police Department on April 16, 2019.

Ms. Wei and her husband Mr. Ma Fei were tried by the Nanzhao County on March 28, 2019.
