(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 12 provinces, where at least 31 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Liaoyuan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhao Chunmei Secretly Sentenced to Prison
Ms. Zhao Chunmei from Dongfeng County was arrested at work on March 20, 2019. She was secretly sentenced to a six-month prison term. Before she was arrested, the police had been to her workplace several times to harass her and demand that she sign paperwork.
2. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Wang Qionghua and Husband Mr. Chai Maorong Arrested
Ms. Wang Qionghua and her husband Mr. Chai Maorong were intercepted at the door of their building when they returned from grocery shopping on the morning of April 12, 2019. The police body-searched and photographed the couple. The officers grabbed Mr. Chai's keys, forced their way into the couple's home, and ransacked it. They confiscated Falun Dafa books, printed materials, three computers, three printers, two tablets, one DVD burner, one box of blank DVDs, and one box of A4 paper. The couple were taken to the Rixin Police Station, Guandu District.
The couple's son went to the police station to demand that his parents be released that evening. Ms. Wang was released. Mr. Chai was taken to the Guandu District Detention Center.
3. [Laishui County, Hebei Province] Ms. Dong Yanjun and Several Other Practitioners Arrested
The Laishui County Police Department dispatched a large number of police officers, who arrested several practitioners from Shiting Town, and ransacked their homes on April 12, 2019.
Practitioners in the following villages in Shiting Town were known to have been arrested.
The officers ransacked Ms. Dong Yanjun's home in Bancheng Village, and confiscated seven printers, three computers, and some cash.
The officers ransacked Mr. Yan Yong's and his wife Ms. Jiang Shuxian's home in Beilongquan Village, and confiscated a computer, a printer, and Falun Dafa books.
The officers also went to Mr. Yan Hequan's home and attempted to arrest him but failed.
The officers ransacked Mr. Yang Xifang and his wife Ms. Yu Fengyun's home in Dachitu Village, and confiscated Falun Gong materials.
The officers ransacked Mr. Cheng Shuli's home in Seshu Village and confiscated Falun Dafa books, and photos of the founder of Falun Gong. Mr. Cheng returned home that afternoon.
4. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Zhou Xikun's Pension Suspended
Wang Xinhua, director, and Liao Xiaoming, deputy director, from the Computing Center, Information Science Department of Wuhan University, went to Mr. Zhou Xikun's home in November 2018. They demanded that Mr. Zhou's family sign paperwork to suspend Mr. Zhou's pension. They threatened to expel Mr. Zhou from the university completely. It has been several months since Mr. Zhou's pension was suspended in December 2018.
Mr. Zhou was sentenced to a three-year prison term, and is being held in the Fanjiatai Prison.

5. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Ms. Liu Chunxia and Mr. Yang Jun Arrested
Ms. Liu Chunxia was arrested by officers from the Wulipai Police Station in late November 2018 for talking to people about Falun Gong in the Wulipai area. She is still in custody.
It was reported that Mr. Yang Jun was arrested in late February 2019.
6. [Cangzhou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Ning Guiyun Detained
Ms. Ning Guiyun from Yuqingtun Village, Xingji Town, was arrested by officers from the Xingji Police Station on the morning of April 9, 2019. She was held in the Cangzhou City Detention Center.
7. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Zhou Yudi's and Ms. Zhou Limin's Homes Ransacked
Jin Xiaoxiang, head of the De'an County Domestic Security Division, along with other officers, broke into Ms. Zhou Yudi's and Ms. Zhou Limin's homes on the afternoon of April 10, 2019. They threatened the two practitioners, ransacked their homes, and confiscated their Falun Dafa books.

8. [Heze City, Shandong Province] Mr. Cheng Fating and Wife Ms. Sun Mengying Sentenced to Prison
Mr. Cheng Fating was sentenced to a two-year-and-two-month prison term and fined 3,000 yuan by the Juancheng County Court. He was taken to the No. 11 Ward of Shandong Province Prison on March 1, 2019.
His wife Ms. Sun Mengying was sentenced to a two-year prison term and fined 3,000 yuan. She was taken to the No. 11 Ward of Shandong Province Women's Prison on March 14, 2019.
9. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Junmei and Ms. Huang Shulan Detained
Ms. Zhang Junmei, 80, and Ms. Huang Shulan, 82, from Yi County, were reported for talking to people about Falun Gong on the afternoon of April 12, 2019. Both practitioners were arrested and taken to the Yi County Police Department by Chen Mingyan, director, Wang Huimin, political head, and other officers from the Qianyang Township Police Station. Both practitioners are being held in the Jinzhou City Detention Center.

10. [Fuyang City, Anhui Province] Mr. Ji Jie and Other Practitioners Sentenced to Prison
Mr. Ji Jie, Mr. Zhou Xiqiong, and Ms. Ma Junping were each sentenced to a five-year prison term.
A number of Falun Gong practitioners have been sentenced to 1 to 4 year prison terms.
Mr. Li Mingqian was arrested and detained for 12 days.

11. [Chenggu County, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Li Zhihua Detained
Mr. Li Zhihua is being held in the Shiquan County Detention Center, Ankang City.
12. [Mengyin County, Shandong Province] Ms. Sui Xuehua and Other Practitioners Arrested
Officials from Mengyin County went to harass practitioners who posted Falun Gong informational couplets on door frames on March 22, 2019.
The officials ransacked Ms. Sui Xuehua's and Ms. Shi Yuexiang's homes and confiscated all their Falun Gong materials. Ms. Sui, Ms. Shi, and another practitioner with the last name Ji were arrested and taken to the Mengyin County Detention Center. Ji was released due to having high blood pressure, after Ji's family paid 10,000 yuan.
13. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Ni Wenli and Ms. Cao Shuqin Arrested
Four or five officers from the Baoshou Town Police Station broke into Ms. Ni Wenli's home, arrested her, and ransacked the place on March 21, 2019. They confiscated Falun Dafa books and photos of the founder of Falun Gong. Ms. Cao Shuqin, who happened to be there, was also arrested and taken to the police station. The officers then went to Ms. Cao's home and confiscated copies of the book Zhuan Falun.
Both practitioners were taken to the detention center. Ms. Cao's family went to the hospital to get a copy of her medical records proving that she had high blood pressure and heart disease. Ms. Ni developed symptoms of heart disease and lost consciousness. The detention center refused to admit either practitioner, so they were released that day.
14. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Tang Yongxian and Ms. Chen Dechun Arrested
Ms. Tang Yongxian and Ms. Chen Dechun, employees of the Changqing Oilfield Company, were secretly video recorded and arrested by plainclothes officers when they were talking to people about Falun Gong on the afternoon of April 12, 2019. They were taken to the Guangming Police Station, where they were photographed, fingerprinted, and forced to sign paperwork. Ms. Tang was released at around 1:30 a.m. the next day. Ms. Chen was released after 4:00 p.m. the following day.
