Germany and Spain: Raising Awareness of the Persecution of Falun Gong and Commemorating the April 25 Protest
(Minghui.org) To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the April 25, 1999 peaceful protest in Beijing, Falun Gong practitioners across the world are holding events. They raise awareness of the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) persecution of Falun Gong, especially the CCP's state-sanctioned organ harvesting from living practitioners for profit. They also collected signatures to stop the persecution.
Hamburg, Germany: Raising Awareness of the CCP's Persecution
Falun Gong practitioners held an event to raise awareness of the persecution in Spitalerstrasse, a busy downtown shopping center in Hamburg, Germany on Saturday, April 20, 2019. They displayed a reenactment of the CCP's live organ harvesting to expose the persecution. Many people signed the petition to help stop the Party's persecution.
Sara talked with a practitioner for a long time at the Falun Gong booth to learn about the persecution. She was upset when hearing about the 20-year-long persecution.
“China is so huge,” said Sara, “Whatever you do, you might get killed. Why do people not stand up?”
A practitioner explained that if one openly protests against the CCP, that person will be imprisoned. Falun Gong practitioners in China face tremendous pressure. Yet practitioners in China and other countries still continue to protest peacefully.
Sara said, “I am shocked. This (persecution) is a crime. It must be stopped.” She appreciated the practitioners' efforts to expose the persecution.
Retired teacher Preising signed the petition against the CCP's organ harvesting from living practitioners. She said, “This is a crime that we must stop!”
Spain: Calling for an End to the Party's Persecution
Falun Gong practitioners in Spain held a series of events to condemn the CCP's 20-year-long persecution and is raising awareness of it among the public and tourists. They demanded that the CCP stop the persecution and bring the culprits to justice.
Practitioners held banners outside the Chinese Embassy in Madrid on April 6, 2019. They demonstrated the exercises, collected signatures and called for an end to the persecution.
Spanish lawyer Carlos Iglesia spoke at the rally and condemned the CCP's persecution. He warned the embassy staffers to not participate in the persecution.
Although it started to rain at noon, the practitioners continued their efforts to raise awareness and collect signatures.
The practitioners held a signature collection in downtown Madrid on April 20. As soon as the banners were set up, passersby paused to learn about Falun Gong and the CCP's persecution. Many signed the petition to help stop the persecution.
