86-Year-Old Father-in-Law: Doing the Right Thing Truly Worked
(Minghui.org) My father-in-law is 86 years old and is illiterate. When we talked to him, it was as if he could not understand, nor could he remember what we said.
One day, he appeared to be in pain and his eyebrow was crooked. When asked, he said that his legs were in pain, and that he had difficulty walking up the stairs.
I told him to recite “Falun Dafa is good” and “Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance is good” and he would feel better.
Instead of thanking me, he stared at me. Then, he said that an elderly lady talked to him about Falun Dafa the day before and gave him a brochure. After she walked away, he threw the brochure to the ground.
There was no doubt in my mind that this was the reason for his legs being in pain. I explained to him that these truth-clarifying brochures are for people to understand the truth about Falun Dafa. I said, “She gave it to you without asking a penny from you. You could tell her that you couldn't read and give it back, or you could bring it home so we could read it for you. It was wrong to throw it away.”
He felt embarrassed and said that he noticed this afternoon that the brochure was still on the ground. I asked him to go pick it up and bring it home. He picked it up the next day.
The second day, his daughter and son-in-law came to visit him. While eating dinner he told them what happened and took the brochure from his pocket.
“It truly worked,” he said. “I picked up the brochure and brought it home. My leg pain was gone. This is amazing.”
His daughter and son-in-law both read the brochure after dinner.
I said to my father-in-law, “See, those Falun Dafa practitioners are really different – they are great! No matter how the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) persecutes them, they are still willing to speak up for Falun Dafa. That cultivation practice is good and it teaches people to be kind and honest.”
When I reminded him to recite “Falun Dafa is good” and “Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance is good” I explained that these two sentences would improve his health. He smiled and nodded.
