Additional Persecution News from China – February 22, 2019 (8 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 24 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Four Practitioners Officially Arrested

Thirteen practitioners from the Nangang District were arrested on November 9, 2018. Four of them have now been officially placed under arrest. They are Ms. Na Limei, Ms. Gao Fengyun, Ms. Li Xiaolin, and Ms. Ren Rujie.

2. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Jia Yanfeng, Ms. Li Xiuzhen, and Ms. Li Xiufen from Dongning City were arrested by officers from the Sanchakou Town Police Station in December 2018, when they were talking to people about Falun Gong in Xinli Village.

Ms. Li Xiufen was taken to the Dongning Detention Center for 12 days, while Ms. Li Xiuzhen was released the day of her arrest as she had high blood pressure.

3. [Yiyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Li Aiguo Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Li Aiguo was arrested by officers from the Taohualun Police Station in the Heshan District on June 24, 2018, when she was talking to people about Falun Gong. She was later sentenced to one year in prison.

Ms. Li is still being held in the Yiyang City Detention Center.

4. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Hou Guoying Arrested

Mr. Hou Guoying, from Dafangshen Town in Dehui City, was arrested by officers from the Yangshu Police Station on the morning of February 21, 2019. His home was ransacked.

5. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Fengjuan and Ms. Bai Detained

Ms. Wang Fengjuan was arrested at a bakery on February 11, 2019. The bakery owner Ms. Bai was also arrested. Both practitioners were held in a lockup center for five days, before being transferred to a detention center.

6. [Chongqing] Ms. Tang Bin Detained

Ms. Tang Bin, from Guojiatuo in the Jiangbei District, was arrested by officers from the Tangjiatuo Police Station on February 15, 2019, when she was distributing Falun Gong materials in Tangjiatuo. She is being held in the Fusheng Detention Center, Jiangbei District.

7. [Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province] Mr. Yang Fucheng and His Wife Ms. Sun Guifen Arrested

Mr. Yang Fucheng and his wife Ms. Sun Guifen, from Xingbei Village, Longgang District, Huludao City, Liaoning Province, went to visit their son Mr. Yang Hongtao in Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province, at the end of 2018.

The couple was arrested at their son's home by officers from the Jinhua Domestic Security Division, Jindong District Police Department, and Dongxiao Neighborhood Police Station on February 6, 2019.

Mr. Yang and Ms. Sun were taken to the Jinhua Detention Center.

8. [Cang County, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Junyang Detained

Ms. Zhang Junying was arrested by Li Yongsheng and Pang Liang, from the Cang County Police Department, and officers from the Daguanting Township Police Station on the afternoon of February 19, 2019.

Ms. Zhang is being held in the Cangzhou City Detention Center.
