(Minghui.org) Studying the Fa diligently has helped to improve my moral character and made it easier to overcome tests quickly.

Master said,

“So the next time you are going through a real trial or tribulation, try to keep this in mind, and see if you can bear it. Or when faced with what seems impossible, and even if others say so, try to keep this in mind, and see if it might just be possible. I believe that if you can do that, you will always find that there is light at the end of the tunnel.” (The Ninth Talk, Zhuan Falun)

I work in a university cafeteria. My job is to put all the clean tableware on a dining cart and bring them to each “window.” One day, a colleague suddenly yelled at me, saying that I didn’t fill the box of knives. There was actually no such requirement, but I didn’t argue and replied, “I will pay more attention next time.”

She yelled at me again when all of our colleagues arrived at work, “I just criticized you, right?” She often yelled at me, so I didn't want to team up with her. I resented her.

Looking inward, I realized that I was afraid of being criticized by others. I may have treated her like that in a past life, so I should repay my karma and eliminate the attachment. I reminded myself to remain calm whenever she bossed me around. I cultivate Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, so I should have others feel the goodness of Dafa from my behavior. I tried to do whatever she asked of me.

Master said,

“All of them can be overcome as long as you elevate your mind. You should be able to pull through unless you are not determined to. So, going forward, don’t think that the issues you experience with people are by chance. They’re not, even if they come out of the blue. They are meant to perfect your character. You will manage to handle them well as long as you act as a practitioner.” (The Fourth Talk, Zhuan Falun)

I also realized that I should eliminate my resentment toward her. One day, she suddenly changed. She grabbed two cups of milk from the cafeteria and offered me one.

The next day, she gave me a blue flower headdress. When I told her I had one, she said, “This one is made by my friend. I saved it especially for you.”

She has since stopped yelling at me and has become more considerate. Whenever we work late, she would say, “You should hurry or you’ll miss your bus. I’ll finish the rest.” She works hard and never evades any kind of heavy task.

We now coordinate well at work. As long as we work as a team, we are always the first to finish the job.
