Shandong Man Beaten and Forced to Drink Diluted Bleach in Prison for Not Renouncing His Faith
(Minghui.org) A Zibo City, Shandong Province, resident has been subjected to various forms of torture and abuse since he was admitted to Jinan Prison for refusing to renounce his faith in Falun Gong.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a mind-body improvement system that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Mr. Huang Futang, 66, was arrested on March 22, 2016, for practicing Falun Gong. He was sentenced to three years in September 2016 by Zhangdian District Court and began to serve time at Jinan Prison in December 2016.
Several inmates beat Mr. Huang and attempted to force him to drink diluted bleach one night in January 2017. He shouted for help. Another imprisoned Falun Gong practitioner, Mr. Dai Dongwu, came over and tried to put a stop to it. The inmates dragged Mr. Dai into a meeting room and beat him into unconsciousness.
Mr. Huang made a request on March 14, 2017, for a physical checkup for the injuries he suffered during his arrest, detention, and imprisonment. The prison guards turned him down. When he started a hunger strike in protest, they locked him to a metal chair for 48 hours.
Mr. Huang was again beaten several times by inmates between July and November 2018. They stuffed his mouth with a mop or underwear to prevent him from screaming. He had injuries all over his body after the beatings.
