Additional Persecution News from China – December 6, 2019 (17 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 24 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhao Zhenhua Arrested

Ms. Zhao Zhenhua from Sanyuanjie was arrested at home on December 3, 2019. Her whereabouts are unknown.

2. [Beizhen City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Sun Ronghua Facing Trial 

Ms. Sun Ronghua was taken to Beizhen City Domestic Security Division on October 22, 2019, after being detained for 15 days. She was released on bail that day, and taken home by her family.

The Beizhen Procuratorate informed Ms. Sun on November 28, that they were now dealing with her case. Staff at Beizhen Court then called her on December 2, telling her to pick up her indictment at the courthouse.

3. [Ningyuan County, Hunan Province] Ms. Ou Guiping Imprisoned

Ms. Ou Guiping, 62, was arrested by officers from Chezhan Police Station on October 19, 2018, for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was later sentenced to a seven-year prison term, and taken to Changsha City Women's Prison.

4. [Urumqi City, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region] Ms. Li Yuzhi Officially Arrested

Ms. Li Yuzhi, 75, and her non-practitioner husband were arrested at home by several police officers from the Dabancheng District on September 19, 2019. Their home was ransacked.

Her husband was released the following day. Ms. Li was recently transferred to Urumqi City No. 3 Detention Center, and officially placed under arrest by the Tianshan District Procuratorate.

5. [Chongqing] Mr. Yan Shuncai Seriously Ill in Prison

Mr. Yan Shuncai, 67, from the Jiulongpo District, was arrested in November 2018 after being reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong. He was later sentenced to a two-year prison term.

Mr. Yan’s family received a phone call from the prison hospital in November 2019, indicating that Mr. Yan was seriously ill, and his life was in danger.

It was recently learned that Mr. Yan was incarcerated in the No. 10 Ward of Yongchuan Prison.

6. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhao Jie and Ms. Liu Guizhi Arrested

Ms. Zhao Jie, in her 50s, and Ms. Liu Guizhi, from Xinbin County, were arrested on December 5, 2019. Ms. Zhao’s home was ransacked, and her computer and printer were confiscated.

7. [Shanghai] Ms. Ni Jingzhen and Ms. Ni Cuiping Arrested

Ms. Ni Jingzhen and her daughter Ms. Ni Cuiping were reported to the police and arrested on December 4, 2019. Police officers smashed in the door of their home, and ransacked the place.

Ms. Ni Jingzhen was released later that evening. Ms. Ni Cuiping was taken into custody.

8. [Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhong Yifang Detained

Ms. Zhong Yifang was arrested in mid-November 2019, for talking to people about Falun Gong. She is being held in Panzhihua Detention Center.

9. [Guang’an City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Ding Yuerong Arrested

Ms. Ding Yuerong was arrested around September 24, 2019. Her whereabouts are unknown.

10. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Zhao Suyan, from Shili Village, Shengcheng Neighborhood, was arrested by Yang Yigui, deputy head of Shouguang City Domestic Security Division, and several officers from the Shengcheng Police Station around December 3, 2019. Her home was ransacked.

Yang Yigui and other officers broke into Ms. Zhen Yongmei’s office at Shouguang No. 1 Middle School on the morning of December 4, and forced her to go home. The officers ransacked her home, and confiscated her Falun Dafa books. Ms. Zhen was taken to the police station.

The officers arrested Ms. Zhang Chunmei, and ransacked her home the same day.

11. [Nanchong City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Zhang Jun Detained

Mr. Zhang Jun was arrested on November 30, 2019, and taken to Huafeng Detention Center.

12. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Ling Jun and Ms. Dai Shujin Sentenced to Prison; Ms. Wu Chunru Arrested

The Jianye District Court requested that Ms. Ling Jun and her mother Ms. Dai Shujin go to the court to receive their verdicts on November 15, 2019. Ms. Ling Jun was sentenced to a three-and-a-half-year prison term and fined 30,000 yuan. Ms. Dai was sentenced to a three-year prison term with one-year of probation and fined 30,000 yuan.

Ms. Wu Chunru, in her 80s, was arrested while shopping on November 19. Her whereabouts are unknown. Ms. Wu was previously arrested in the Qinhuai District in 2018, and released on bail.

13. [Fuxin City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Guilan’s Home Ransacked

Officers from Hanjiadian Police Station, Haizhou District, broke into and ransacked Ms. Li Guilan’s home on November 25, 2019. They confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong and Falun Dafa books. They also threatened Ms. Li.

14. [Shizuishan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region] Ms. Wang Yuelan Arrested

Officers from the Gangchang Police Station, Huinong District, broke into Ms. Wang Yuelan’s home, and arrested her on the morning of December 4, 2019. They ransacked the place, and confiscated Falun Gong materials and paper currency bills with information about Falun Gong printed on them.

Ms. Wang was released later that evening.

15. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Huiqing Arrested

Ms. Zhang Huiqing was arrested at her rented home on the afternoon of December 2, 2019. The place was ransacked. Her whereabouts are unknown.

16. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Jia Xiuhua and Ms. Wang Weiju Sentenced

Ms. Jia Xiuhua and Ms. Wang Weiju were arrested on April 19, 2019, and tried by the Dongzhou District Court on October 31.

Ms. Jia was recently sentenced to a nine-month prison term and fined 3,000 yuan. Ms. Wang was sentenced to an eight-month prison term and fined 3,000 yuan. 

17. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wu Xiulan Sentenced

Ms. Wu Xiulan, 74, was arrested in July 2019, for putting up posters about Falun Gong. She was sentenced to a three-year prison term by the Linghe District Court. She has appealed to the Jinzhou Intermediate Court.
