Additional Persecution News from China – December 2, 2019 (12 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 23 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhang Mingfang and Ms. Li Qunhua Sentenced to Prison

1. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhang Mingfang and Ms. Li Qunhua Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Zhang Mingfang and Ms. Li Qunhua were tried by the Chenghua District Court on the afternoon of November 29, 2019. Ms. Zhang was sentenced to a two-year prison term. Ms. Li was sentenced to a 20-month prison term.

2. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Ms. Li Yueli Arrested

Ms. Li Yueli, 61, a retired Chinese language teacher from Shiyan Middle School, has been missing for two months. After several inquiries, it was learned that she has been arrested by Changsha City 610 Office agents. Her whereabouts are unknown.

3. [Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Jia Shuying and Ms. Li Shuqing Arrested

Ms. Jia Shuying and Ms. Li Shuqing from the Jinshantun District were arrested on the afternoon of November 29, 2019, for distributing Falun Gong calendars. Ms. Li was taken to the Yichun City Detention Center the following afternoon for ten days. Ms. Jia was released on the evening of November 30.

4. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Five Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Che Wen, Ms. Gao Yinfeng, Ms. Hu Mitao, Ms. Cao Genxiu, and Ms. Chen Yulian were secretly tried by the Xihu District Court in late October 2019.

Mr. Chen was sentenced to a nine-and-a-half-year prison term. Ms. Gao was sentenced to a five-year prison term. The other three practitioners' sentences are not known.

5. [Linqing City, Shandong Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Xu Jinrong, Ms. Tian Xiuzhen, Ms. Xu Guishan, and Ms. Yu Shuzhen were arrested by officers from the Linqing City Domestic Security Division on the morning of November 29, 2019. The officers forced them to sign their paperwork, threatening to suspend their pensions or fire them from their jobs.

The four practitioners were released, and picked up by their families that evening.

6. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Yan Laisheng Arrested

Mr. Yan Laisheng was arrested by officers from the Railway Police Station at the Jinzhou Train Station checkpoint on the evening of November 30, 2019.

Four officers from the police station, an officer from the Toudaohe Township Police Station, and the local village head ransacked Mr. Yan’s home the following morning.

7. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Donglan Detained

Ms. Zhang Donglan from Luanzhou City was arrested by officers from the Angezhuang Police Station on December 1, 2019. She was taken to the Luanzhou City Detention Center for 15 days.

8. [Yinan County, Shandong Province] Three Practitioner Arrested

Ms. Zhang Xiuzhen and Mr. Lu Yongtang’s wife were intercepted and reported to the police by Fu Huayun, who is responsible for monitoring Internet content in Xiaohe Village, Sucun Town, on November 12, 2019. Mr. Lu’s wife was arrested, and later released for health reasons.

Officers from the Sucun Police Station notified the Hutou Police Station, who sent officers to Mr. Lu’s home to arrest him and ransack the place. Mr. Lu is being held in the Yinan County Detention Center.

Officers from the Hutou Police Station broke into Ms. Zhang’s home, and arrested her on the morning of November 13. Ms. Zhang was taken to Linyi Detention Center.

Ms. Zhang’s family received an arrest warrant from the Yinan Police Department around November 26.

9. [Shanghai] Ms. Pei Shanzhen Facing Trial

Ms. Pei Shanzhen from the Jing’an District was due to be tried at a branch of Jing’an Court on the morning of December 10, 2019.

10. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yang Fengying Taken to Detention Center

Ms. Yang Fengying was taken to a detention center on November 30, 2019.

11. [Xinglong County, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhao Huairong Detained

Mr. Zhao Huairong from Jutou Village, Bagualing Township, was arrested at home by Domestic Security officers on November 26, 2019. He is being held in the Chengde City Detention Center.

12. [Meishan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Dou Bihua Arrested

Ms. Dou Bihua from Yongshou Town was arrested by police officers in mid-October 2019. She has since returned home.
