Additional Persecution News from China – November 24, 2019 (12 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 10 provinces, where at least 22 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Beijing] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Zhang Yinying, 70, from the Dongcheng District was arrested in May 2017 and has been held in Dongcheng Detention Center for two and a half years. She was previously held in forced labor camps four times and was persecuted in a mental hospital.

Ms. Lu Xiuling, about 80 years old, was deceived into going to the Daxing District Detention Center in early August 2019. She was then taken to Tiantanghe Women's Prison, where she is being held for one year. Ms. Lu was previously sentenced to a year in prison in October 2018. Due to her age and poor health, she served the term at home. She was also detained for 40 days in 2017 for talking to people about Falun Gong in Daxing.

Ms. Zhang Mujie from Daxing was arrested on November 19, 2019. Her whereabouts are unknown.

2. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Yang Yuxiang and Ms. Jiang Cuiyan Arrested

Ms. Yang Yuxiang and Ms. Jiang Cuiyan were arrested by Jiangbei Police Station officers on the evening of November 18, 2019. They were detained for one day.

3. [Luzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zou Mingying Taken to Prison

Ms. Zou Mingying was sentenced to 18 months in prison in the Hejiang County Court in December 2018. She was taken to Longquan Women's Prison, Chengdu City, in September 2019.

4. [Huai’an City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Shi Feng Arrested

Ms. Shi Feng was arrested by plainclothes officers on November 8, 2019, and taken to Huaihailu Police Station in the Qingjiangpu District.

Ms. Shi was taken to hospital for a physical exam that afternoon, then transferred to Huai’an City Detention Center for 11 days.

5. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Li Xiaochun and Ms. Zeng Yinlang Detained

Ms. Li Xiaochun and Ms. Zeng Yinlang from Zhoutou Village, Jiangzhou Township, were arrested by officers from Huikou Town Police Station in Susong County, Anhui Province, on September 11, 2019.

Both women are being held in Dalongshan Detention Center in Anqing City, Anhui Province.

6. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Mr. Guo Yutian and Elderly Practitioner Ma Arrested

Mr. Guo Yutian and elderly practitioner Ma from Wang’an Town, Laiyuan County, were arrested by officers from Wang’an Police Station on November 22, 2019, for distributing Falun Gong calendars. Elderly Ma was released, but Mr. Guo was taken to a detention center.

7. [Jiyuan City, Henan Province] Ms. Wu Guiru Sentenced to a Five-Year Prison Term

Ms. Wu Guiru, 63, was arrested on August 8, 2019, for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was secretly sentenced to a five-year prison term and taken to Xinxiang Prison.

8. [Hong’an County, Hubei Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Li Yanrong (in her 50s), Mr. Yu Yonghua (in his 50s), Ms. Liu Youxiang (about 60), Ms. Xia Qinglian (about 60), and Ms. Ma Yumei (about 50) were arrested on the afternoon of November 21, 2019, for talking to people about Falun Gong. They are being held in Huolianfan Forced Labor Camp.

9. [Fuzhou City, Fujian Province] Ms. Huang Yixian and Ms. Weng Acai Arrested

Ms. Huang Yixian and Ms. Weng Acai were arrested by officers from Taijiang Police Department on the afternoon of November 21, 2019, for talking to people about Falun Gong.

10. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Chengrong Arrested

Mr. Li Chengrong from Chenxiang Town in the Sujiatun District was arrested on the morning of November 20, 2019, for talking to people about Falun Gong. He was taken to Chenxiang Police Station.

11. [Fuxin City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Lidong and Her Husband Mr. Song Yuewu Detained

Ms. Wang Lidong and her husband Mr. Song Yuewu were arrested by plainclothes officers on November 16, 2019, for distributing Falun Gong calendars. They were taken to Fumeng County Police Department 

Ms. Wang is being held in Xindi Detention Center. Mr. Song is being held in Fumeng Detention Center.

12. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhan Jie Passes Away Due to Persecution

Ms. Zhan Jie from the Daoli District passed away at home on the afternoon of November 21, 2019.

She was previously incarcerated in Heilongjiang Province Women's Prison for nine years and brutally abused.

Ms. Zhan and Ms. Li Shuangfeng were arrested on September 12, 2017. Ms. Zhan developed illness symptoms and was later diagnosed with tuberculosis. She was released on bail. The police went to her home on numerous occasions to harass her and attempted to arrest her again. To avoid incessant harassment Ms. Zhan had to leave town and became displaced.

Before she died, she was under tremendous pressure.
