Additional Persecution News from China – November 23, 2019 (15 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 10 provinces，where at least 44 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Heze City, Shandong Province] Ms. Chen Yuhua, in Her 70s, Dies in Prison

Ms. Chen Yuhua, in her 70s, passed away in the Shandong Province Women's Prison. Her body was cremated in Jinan City on September 25, 2019.

2. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Two Practitioners Sentenced to Prison; 74-Year-Old Ms. Cheng Shengqiong’s Case Turned Over to Procuratorate

Mr. Huang Tinghui and Mr. Zuo Guocheng from Dayi County were sentenced to prison by the Dayi County Court on November 8, 2019. Mr. Huang was given a three-year-and-three-month prison term. Mr. Zuo was given a three-year prison term.

Ms. Cheng Shengqiong, 74, from Xindu District was arrested by officers from the Chengxi Police Station on the afternoon of July 20, 2019. Her case was turned over to the Xindu District Procuratorate.

3. [Suihua City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Yu Guirong Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Yu Guirong from Anda City was given a one-year prison term in November 2019. She has appealed.

Ms. Yu was arrested by plainclothes officers on the morning of April 15, 2019. She was detained for 15 days. She was transferred to the Anda City Detention Center on April 28.

4. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Qu Yanlai and Three Other Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Qu Yanlai, Ms. An Xianping, and Ms. Zhang Weiguang were arrested on November 9, 2018. It was reported that Mr. Qu was given a five-year prison term by the Ranghulu District Court and that his lawyer has filed an appeal. Ms. An was sentenced to three years in prison, and Mr. Zhang was sentenced to three years by the Daqing Hi-Tech Industry Development Zone People's Court.

Ms. Mou Yongxia was arrested by officers from the Harbin Railway Public Security Division. She is being held in the Harbin City Detention Center, where she was force-fed food and drugs. She was officially placed under arrest by the Harbin Railway Procuratorate.

5. [Tianjin] Mr. Chen Yuefei and Two Other Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Liu Guohua and Mr. Chen Yuefei, from Daxinzhuang Village, Xiwu Town, Wuqing District, were arrested at home by officers from the Hexiwu Police Station on the morning of July 4, 2019. Their homes were ransacked. Both practitioners were taken to a detention center.

Ms. Tang Manzhi from Damengzhuang Town, Wuqing District, was arrested by officers from the Damengzhuang Police Station on November 20, 2019.

6. [Yongning County, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region] Ms. Jiang Chunmei and Eight Other Practitioners Officially Arrested

Officers from the Yongning County Police Department, the State Security Division, and the Yanghe Police Station arrested 13 practitioners in a coordinated campaign on September 19, 2019.

The 13 practitioners arrested were Ms. Jiang Chunmei, Ms. Xiao Yanzhi, Ms. Na Qin, Mr. Chen Bo, Ms. Zhu Haiyan, Ms. Sun Fanghong, Ms. Sun Fanghui, Mr. Nan Yongsheng, Mr. Jiang Tao, Mr. Ren Chuntian, and Ms. Chen Shuhui. Nine of them were officially placed under arrest by the Xixia District Procuratorate and are being held in the Yinchuan City Detention Center. Four of the 13 practitioners were released.

7. [Hengyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Xiao Hengxiang and Ms. Liu Yuanlan Detained

Ms. Xiao Hengxiang and Ms. Liu Yuanlan were arrested and taken to the Hengyang City Detention Center when she distributed information about Falun Gong on the morning of November 11, 2019. Ms. Xiao was detained for five days, and Ms. Liu for 10 days.

8. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Yurong Detained

Ms. Liu Yurong was arrested at the No. 4 People’s Hospital bus stop on the morning of November 11, 2019. She was taken to the Jiaojinshan Police Station, Ganjingzi District, and then to a drug rehabilitation center for seven days of detention.

9. [Xinbin County, Liaoning Province] Mr. Jin Chunshi Arrested

Mr. Jin Chunshi from Xinbin Town was arrested by officers from the Xinbin County Domestic Security Division and the Xinbin Town Police Station on November 21, 2019 for distributing Falun Gong informational desktop calendars. He was held in the Nangou Detention Center, Fushun City, for 10 days of detention. The following day his family was told to come to the police station and bring 500 yuan to cover the fines and 110 yuan for medical examination costs.

10. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Xiaohui Held in Custody for Over Two Months

Ms. Liu Xiaohui from Tianqiao District was arrested by the Tianqiao District police on the evening of September 18, 2019. She has been held in custody for over two months.

11. [Huanggang City, Hubei Province] Mr. Yu Yonghua and Four Other Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Yu Yonghua (in his 50s), Ms. Li Yanrong (in her 50s), Ms. Liu Youxiang (about 60), Ms. Ma Yumei (about 50), and Ms. Xia Qinglian (about 60), from Hong’an County, were arrested by officers from the Taipingqiao Police Station, Taiping Township, when they distributed desktop calendars with information about Falun Gong on the afternoon of November 21, 2019. They were taken to the Huolianfan Detention Center. Ms. Xia was released due to high blood pressure.

12. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Yang Wenhua Arrested

Ms. Yang Wenhua, from Youpanzhuang Village, Luannan County, was arrested by officers from the Qingtuoying Town Police Station when she talked to people about Falun Gong on the morning of November 5, 2019. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong materials. She was taken to the Luannan County Detention Center, and released on November 8.

13. [Beijing] Mr. Zhang Mujie Arrested

Mr. Zhang Mujie was arrested on November 19, 2019.

14. [Chongqing] Mr. Dai Ming and Three Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Dai Ming, his wife Ms. Hu Anlan, Ms. Tan Changxiu, and Mr. Wang Kehua were arrested by police on the morning of November 9, 2019. The officers were staked out where the practitioners were handing out Falun Gong materials. The practitioners were taken to the Chongyi Police Station. Mr. Dai and Ms. Hu were handcuffed, Mr. Dai was handcuffed with her hands behind her back.

Ms. Pan Yuying from Longtan District was arrested at her sister’s home by plainclothes officers from the Jilin City Domestic Security Division on November 21, 2019.
