(Minghui.org) A Foshan City, Guangdong Province resident was sentenced to four years in prison for her faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

Ms. Hu Yating, an accountant, was arrested in August 2018, after plainclothes officers monitoring her saw her passing out informational materials about Falun Gong to a student.

The Shunde Court recently announced the verdict against her.

This is the fifth time that Ms. Hu has been arrested and persecuted for her faith.

Ms. Hu served more than one year of forced labor between 2006 and 2007 for passing out materials about Falun Gong.

She was arrested again in September 2010 for distributing the materials and sentenced to three years in prison by Shunde District Court. She appealed the verdict, only to be rejected by Foshan City Intermediate Court. She returned home in September 2013.

In 2015, she was arrested twice, first on July 31 and the on November 12, for passing out Falun Gong materials. She was detained for 15 days after the first arrest. The authorities sentenced her to 2.5 years following her second arrest during a police sweep.

Only three months after she was released in May 2018, she was arrested for the fifth time.
