Additional Persecution News from China – September 24 (15 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 6provinces, where at least 22 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Tianjin] Mr. Li Xiping and Ms. Liu Fenghua Detained

Officers from the Gegu Town Police Station broke open the door of Mr. Li Xiping’s home and arrested him on the afternoon of September 20, 2019. The officers arrested Ms. Liu Fenghua the same way that night. Mr. Li and Ms. Liu are held in an unknown location.

2. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Han Xueyan Sentenced, Ms. Dai Yaoqi Detained

Ms. Han Xueyan was arrested by officers from the Kuancheng Police Department in September, 2018. The Kuancheng District Court sentenced her to 18 months in prison on July 21, 2019. She appealed. Without any notification the Changchun City Intermediate Court increased Ms. Han's sentence to three and a half years.

Ms. Dai Yaoqi of Jiutai District was arrested by a taxi driver on the morning of September 22, 2019, when she talked to him about the persecution of Falun Gong. It was learned that she called her family from the Jiutai Detention Center on September 23. She was subjected to 15 days detention.

3. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Mr. Liu Changyou and Ms. Xu Mingying Arrested

Mr. Liu Changyou, 52, from the Fengman District, was arrested by officers from the Fengman District Domestic Security Division on the afternoon of September 22, 2019. The officers took his bag. In 1999, Mr. Liu was sentenced to three years in forced labor camp for appealing in Beijing for the right to practice Falun Gong. He was beaten in the labor camp, and his eyes and leg were injured. His leg recovered, but he can only see objects less than six meters away.

The same day, Ms. Xu Mingying of Huanxi Township was arrested at home by officers from the Fengman District Police Department.

4. [Yongji County, Jilin Province] Mr. Wang Jijie Arrested

Mr. Wang Jijie was arrested at home at noon on September 23, 2019.

5. [Shenzhou City, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhang Xiaonong and Mr. Yun Fu Detained

Mr. Yun Fu and Mr. Zhang Xiaonong from Donganzhuang Village, Dongan Township were arrested by officers from the Chengzhen Police Station on the morning of September 23, 2019. It is said that they are being held at the Hengshui Police Station.

6. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Ms. Shan Yufeng Detained

Ms. Shan Yufeng from the Taocheng District was arrested by officers from the Dengzhuang Township Police Station on the morning of September 20, 2019 for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong in Dengzhuang. The officers ransacked Ms. Shan’s home. Ms. Shan is being held at the Hengshui City Detention Center.

7. [Yongqing County, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Shuxiang and Mr. Guo Yanxin Arrested

Ms. Li Shuxiang and Ms. Guo Yanxin were arrested and taken to the Liuquan Town Police Station on the morning of September 22, 2019.

8. [Binzhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Ma Bin and Her Husband Mr. Wang Ping Arrested

Ms. Ma Bin was arrested in the Ershilipu Open Market on the morning of September 21, 2019, after someone reported her to police. Police ransacked her home, confiscated her computer, printer, Falun Gong books, and other properties. They also arrested her husband, Mr. Wang Ping.

9. [Qixia City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Fengyan Arrested

Ms. Li Fengyan from Yulinzi Village, Shewobo Town was arrested by officers from the town police station on August 20, 2019. The officers confiscated her TV, cell phone, amulets, drawings, and other properties. Ms. Li was released at night.

10. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Sun Chan and Mr. Wang Peilian Detained

Ms. Sun Chan was arrested by officers from the Huancui District Security Brigade and the Sunjiantuan Boarder Police Station around September 12, 2019. She is being held at the Weihai City Detention Center.

Mr. Wang Peilian was reported distributing information about Falun Gong on July 28, 2019. Seven officers ransacked Mr. Wang’s home on the morning of July 30. They confiscated copies of Minghui Weekly – a Falun Gong publication, and took Mr. Wang to a police station for interrogation. In the late afternoon, officers took Mr. Wang’s fingerprints by force and held him in the Wendeng District Detention Center. Police took Mr. Wang’s blood sample by force on August 13. Mr. Wang was released.

11. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Chang Famei Arrested

Ms. Chang Famei from the Chaoyang Community was arrested by an officer from the Shouguang City Domestic Security Division and six plainclothes officers from the Chengqu Police Station on the morning of September 21, 2019. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books, materials, and currency notes with Falun Gong messages written on them. Police interrogated Ms. Chang in the police station and forced her to sign paperwork. She was released to her family after 5 p.m.

12. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yang Xiurong’s Home Ransacked

Four officers from the Xuejiadao Police Station ransacked the home of Ms. Yang Xiurong’s son on September 4, 2019. Police confiscated her Falun Gong books, copies of Minghui Weekly – a Falun Gong publication, desk calendars with Falun Gong messages, players, and other properties.

13. [Huaian City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Chen Hong Arrested

Ms. Chen Hong from the Huaiyin District was arrested by officers from the Wangying Town Police Station. The officers ransacked her home, confiscated her computer and Falun Gong books, and took her to the police station.

14. [Hanchuan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Wang Guilan Detained

Ms. Wang Guilan, over 70, returned home on the afternoon of September 19, 2019. She was arrested by officers waiting nearby. The officers were from the Hanchuan City Domestic Security Division. They ransacked Ms. Wang’s home and confiscated her Falun Gong books and materials. Ms. Wang was interrogated at night and taken to the Hanchuan City First Detention Center the next day.

15. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Xiulian Faces Indictment

Ms. Wang Xiulian was arrested on August 20, 2019, for talking to people at a farmers' market about Falun Gong. Her arrest was recently approved by the Xinfu District Procuratorate and she faces further prosecution for her faith.
