Additional Persecution News from China – October 5, 2019 (12 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 21 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Yi County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Wenqin Arrested
2. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Gang Sentenced to Seven Years in Prison; Two Other Practitioners Detained

12. [Yinchuan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region] Mr. Zheng Yongxin and His Wife Ms. Yang Jie Arrested

1. [Yi County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Wenqin Arrested

Ms. Li Wenqin was arrested at the Huludao railway security checkpoint on September 27, 2019. Her home was ransacked.

2. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Gang Sentenced to Seven Years in Prison; Two Other Practitioners Detained

Ms. Li Gang, 76, was sentenced to a seven-year prison term by the Shahekou District Court. She appealed to the Dalian City Intermediate Court. Her case has been sent back for a retrial.

Ms. Yuan was reported to the authorities for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was arrested by officers from the People's Square Police Station on February 26, 2019. Her home was ransacked, and she was taken to the Yaojia Detention Center.

Ms. Zhang Guifang was arrested by officers from the Dalian Police Department on September 17. She was placed in criminal detention at the Yaojia Detention Center.

3. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Chen Honglan and Ms. Tong Shujuan Detained

Ms. Chen Honglan and Ms. Tong Shujuan were arrested by officers from the Zhanqian Police Station on September 2, 2019, when they were posting Falun Gong materials in the Zhanqian Subdistrict. They were detained for 15 days. Ms. Chen has since returned home, while Ms. Tong was transferred to the Bailou Women's Detention Center.

Ms. Tong was previously arrested and held in the Bailou Women's Detention Center in August 2014. She was later sentenced to prison.

4. [Nanyang City, Henan Province] Mr. Li Wengai Arrested

Mr. Li Wengai, 50, was arrested on August 30, 2019.

5. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Ms. Meng Yu Detained

Ms. Meng Yu was arrested by officers from the Wenhui Police Station in the Dongying District on the morning of October 2, 2019, for talking to people about Falun Gong at the Shengli Oilfield Base. The police ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Dafa books, printed materials, DVDs, and small speakers.

Ms. Meng is being held in the Liuhu Detention Center in the Dongying Police Department for five days.

6. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Zhang Mingyi Arrested

Mr. Zhang Mingyi, 40, was arrested by four plainclothes officers and two Jian’an company security guards on the afternoon of September 27, 2019.

7. [Jinyun County, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Li Jianyun Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Li Jianyun was recently arrested and taken to a brainwashing center.

8. [Fuyang City, Anhui Province] Ms. Ding Meirong Detained

Ms. Ding Meirong was arrested by Yingdong District police on the afternoon of September 24, 2019. Officers ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Dafa books. Ms. Ding is being held in the Fuyang City Detention Center.

9. [Mianyang City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Teng Hongbing Detained

Mr. Teng Hongbing from the Fucheng District was arrested at work by High-Tech Zone Domestic Security officers on August 9, 2019. He was detained for 15 days.

10. [Luzhou City, Sichuan Province] Six Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Liu Zhaozhen, Ms. Tang Xuzhen, Mr. Deng Shiming, Ms. Chen Huaifen, Ms. Huang Youhua, and Ms. Huang, from the No. 2 New Village in the Jiangyang District were arrested on the afternoon of October 1, 2019, when they were studying the Falun Dafa teachings together at Ms. Liu’s home.

Ms. Liu was released after failing the physical exam. The other five practitioners were taken to either the Luzhou City Detention Center or Lockup Center.

The police ransacked the homes of Ms. Liu, Ms. Tang, and Mr. Deng. They confiscated Falun Dafa books, Minghui Weekly publications, and printed materials.

11. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Luo Chuan Detained

Mr. Luo Chuan was reported to the authorities on October 2, 2019, for talking to people about Falun Gong. He was arrested by ten officers from the Guangrong Police Station in the Jinniu District. Officers ransacked his home and confiscated Falun Dafa books, a notebook computer, audio player, and printed materials.

Mr. Luo was taken to the Chengdu City Detention Center.

12. [Yinchuan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region] Mr. Zheng Yongxin and His Wife Ms. Yang Jie Arrested

Mr. Zheng Yongxin and his wife Ms. Yang Jie were arrested in Qingtongxia City by officers from the Qingtongxia Police Department on the morning of September 17, 2019. They were taken to the Sunjiatan Detention Center in Hongsibu District, Wuzhong City, for 14 days.

The couple has since returned home.
