87-Year-Old Woman Suffers a Stroke After Being Harassed for Her Faith
(Minghui.org) An 87-year-old woman suffered a stroke after being harassed by the police for her faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Ma Jinglan and her husband, both residents in Qixia City, Shandong Province, went to a farmers' market one morning in early September 2019. They were arrested after the police found a copy of Falun Gong material on their tricycle. The police interrogated them and took their photos. “If you continue to practice Falun Gong, we will arrest your daughter,” an officer said to them.
Terrified by the police, Ms. Ma began to experience dizziness upon returning home. She suffered a stroke three days later and is still in the hospital at the time of writing.
Her situation also left her husband in deep distress. He couldn't fall asleep and is exhausted.
Ms. Ma used to suffer many health problems, including a heart condition and thickening of the artery walls in the brain. Sometimes she couldn't sleep for days because of headaches and other symptoms. She tried many medications, but nothing worked. She had to quit her job and stay at home when she was only 29.
In 1998, when she was 66, she began to practice Falun Gong to improve her health. Only four days after she watched the Falun Gong lectures, her symptoms were gone. Her upper gums also tightened, fixing her loose teeth.
After witnessing the amazing health benefits in her, her husband also took up the practice and his hunchback was straightened.
In the past 20 years, the elderly couple had enjoyed good health. They were always looking forward to Sundays when their children and grandchildren came to visit. They were so healthy that they always prepared meals for the Sunday gatherings, which was impossible before their Falun Gong practice.
But now, Ms. Ma's hospitalization put her family's Sunday tradition on hold and their children and grandchildren are extremely worried about her health.
