(Minghui.org) I'm now nearly 60 years old. I started practicing Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) in 1996. My younger sister started earlier and showed me the Dafa books. I was deeply impressed by the principles explained in the books and found a new direction and new hope for my life.
From a Reckless Young Man to a Good Citizen
I used to be very resentful about unfair things in society. I had a few sworn brothers, and we often drank and smoked together. We even formed a group with a few others to take revenge on corrupt local officials.
The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) secretary of our township built a house for his parents next to a factory. We thought that he must have been corrupt and embezzled public money to be able to build such a house, so we decided to do something about it.
One night, we jumped over the wall and silenced the doorkeeper by wrapping him up with a sheet of cloth. We then placed a few detonators in the storeroom of the house and blew it up. The old couple living in the house were terrified and shaken.
We felt very pleased with ourselves and held a celebration, thinking that we were helping to teach the corrupt officials a lesson.
After I started practicing Falun Dafa, I realized what we did was wrong. We had done wrong to damage the house and cause the elderly couple such fear and anxiety.
I went to talk with my mates, telling them not to do bad things like that anymore. I also told them the goodness of Falun Dafa and that we should show consideration for others in whatever we do.
Falun Dafa has turned me into a new person and brought me happiness and blessings. I gave up drinking and smoking and stopped acting irresponsibly.
When my son got married, my daughter-in-law did not ask for a dowry from us, and she treats us like her own parents. We also treat her as our own daughter. Our whole family is filled with happiness and joy.
I've had a stable job in recent years, delivering water for a company. I'm always on time no matter how far away or how tall the building is. My dedication and work ethic have given the company a good reputation, and the business is doing really well.
Telling Others About Dafa
I make good use of opportunities to talk to people I run across in my job and tell them about Falun Dafa and its persecution by the Communist Party. I give them Minghui periodicals and information about the movement to quit the CCP.
I have told my boss about Falun Dafa and how the perpetrators have incurred karmic retribution. For example, Chen Meng, a CCTV reporter who helped stage the deceptive “self-immolation” hoax on Tiananmen Square, died of cancer in the prime of life at 47. Luo Jing, a well-known CCTV news presenter, also died of cancer at the age of 48. Zhou Yongkang, one of the high officials responsible for the persecution of Falun Gong, is now serving a life sentence, and his wife was also given a long sentence. Bo Xilai and his wife are also jailed for life. Many other officials have also been sent to jail for “corruption,” but I believe the real reason is that they had all committed crimes in the persecution of Falun Gong and are being punished by heaven.
I also gave him some examples from our local area. The director of the legal office of our local education bureau was killed in a car accident. He used to be very active in the persecution of Falun Gong and refused to listen to the facts. The head of the teaching and research section also died of cancer in his 40s. They both used to write questions that slandered Dafa to be included on exam papers.
I told my boss that Dafa practitioners are honest because they understand the principle of “loss and gain” and would never trade their de (virtue) for personal gain. He listened attentively.
“Falun Gong people are the most trustworthy!”
As my boss learned more about Dafa, he trusted me more. In the end, he even entrusted me to take care of his company while he went to set up another company elsewhere. He said to me, “You Falun Gong people are the most trustworthy!”
I filed a complaint against Jiang Zemin, the former CCP leader who launched the persecution of Falun Gong in July 1999, with the Supreme People's Procuratorate in 2015.
CCP officials came to see my boss and told him to sack me, threatening to shut down his company if he didn’t. My boss stood up for me. “This employee does a lot even though his pay is low,” he said, “Most importantly, he is trustworthy. If I have to get a replacement, I will get another Falun Gong practitioner. I will only sack him if you can find me a replacement as good as he is.” The officials who came with “an order from above” left without accomplishing anything.
