Additional Persecution News from China – January 8, 2019 (17 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 18 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 12 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 10 were illegally arrested.

Mr. Guan Xingtao and his wife Ms. Wu Yanhua were arrested on November 9, 2018. They were officially placed under arrest by the Ranghulu District Procuratorate on December 14.

2. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Xie Rongchun and Wife Ms. Xu Lina Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Xie Rongchun and his wife Ms. Xu Lina were tried again by the Erdao Court on the afternoon of December 27, 2018. Mr. Xie was given a one-year-and-eight-month prison term. Ms. Xu was given a one-year-and-six-month prison term. She was released on bail for three months. During the trial the couple said they would appeal.

3. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Xu Guizhi Officially Arrested

Ms. Xu Guizhi, 64, was arrested by officers from the Zhengyang Police Station on December 6, 2018. Her home was ransacked. She was transferred to a detention center after she had been detained for four days. She has been officially arrested by the Procuratorate.

4. [Linghai City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Lina and Ms. Liu Lihui Taken Into Custody

Ms. Liu Lina and her sister Ms. Liu Lihui were arrested by officers from the Zhangjiabao Township Police Station, Yi County, when they were talking to people about Falun Gong at the Laojunbao farmers market, Yi County, on January 2, 2019. They are being held in the Jinzhou City Detention Center.

5. [Kangping County, Liaoning Province] Mr. Cui Rishao Taken Into Custody

Mr. Cui Rishao was arrested by officers from the Dongguan Police Station on January 2, 2019. His wife went to the police station to ask about her husband's situation on January 7. She was treated rudely by Zhang Hongxin, deputy director. Mr. Cui is being held in the Kangping County Detention Center.

7. [Cangzhou City, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Deyou Detained

Mr. Wang Deyou from Junmazhan Village was arrested by officers from the Changguo Town Police Station when he was talking to people about Falun Gong at a farmers market on January 4, 2019. He is being held in the Huanghua Detention Center for 15 days of detention.

Mr. Li Dengchen, from Boshu Village, Chenshi Town, was arrested and taken to a detention center. After he was held for 45 days, his case was turned over to the Shenzhou City Procuratorate.

Mr. Wang Jian and Ms. Tang Jijuan from Zoujiatuan Village, Jianggezhuang Town, Muping District, were arrested by officers from the Jianggezhuang Town Police Station when they were talking to people about Falun Gong at the Shangzhuang farmers market on the morning of January 7, 2019.

Ms. Zhen Jie, from Qianxiaohe Residential Community, Yicheng Neighborhood, was arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division and the Zhongxinjie Police Station on January 3, 2018. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Dafa books and printed materials. She is being held in the Linyi Detention Center.

Ms. Niu Tongqin was arrested on June 12, 2018. She was held in the Zhengzhou City No. 3 Detention Center. She was recently given a two-year prison term. She was taken to the Xinxiang Women's Prison in November 2018.

12. [Yuzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Hou Yingluan and Ms. Lian Yuzhen Arrested

Ms. Hou Yingluan, 50, and Ms. Lian Yuzhen, in her 40s, were arrested by officers from the Guolian Township Police Station and the Yuzhou City Domestic Security Division on January 4, 2019 when they were distributing Falun Gong informational desktop calendars for the year of 2019.

Ms. Hou was taken to the Yuzhou City Detention Center. The detention center refused to admit Ms. Lian because of her high blood pressure. She was released on the afternoon of January 5.

Ms. Dai Sanlian was arrested and taken to the Longyan City Detention Center by officers from the Zhuotian Town Police Station and the Changting County Domestic Security Division on the evening of January 2, 2019.

15. [Xingning City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Luo Chunquan Faces Trial

Ms. Luo Chunquan will be tried by the Mei County Court on January 18, 2019.

16. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Mr. Qiu An Abused

Mr. Qiu An was arrested on December 11, 2018 for talking to customers about Falun Gong at his store where he sells communication devices. He was taken to the Xiaobanqiao Police Station, Guandu District, where he was severely beaten. The officers also used pepper spray on him. He was taken to the Anning City Detention Center, which refused to admit him because his pelvis was fractured during the severe beatings. He returned home the following day.

17. [Zhongning County, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region] Mr. Sun Jianfeng Arrested

Mr. Sun Jianfeng was arrested by the Zhongning County police on the evening of December 31, 2018. His home was ransacked.
