(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 6 provinces. According to this report, 5 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 12 were illegally arrested.

1. [Shanghai] Ms. Li Caixia Detained

Ms. Li Caixia from Fuyang City, Anhui Province, was arrested on the morning of August 19, 2018, for disseminating information about Falun Gong on WeChat, a popular social media app. She is being held in the Jiading District Detention Center in Shanghai.

2. [Tieling City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Chungui Taken to Prison

Mr. Li Chungui, 75, from Faku County was arrested in Diaobingshan City by officers from the Xiaoming Police Station in Diaobingshan on the evening of June 26, 2018. He was taken to the Xinmin Detention Center and was later sentenced to a 15-month prison term.

Mr. Li was taken to Zhaohua Prison in Shenyang City on August 7, 2018.

3. [Suizhong County, Liaoning Province] Ms. He Wenfeng Arrested

Ms. He Wenfeng was arrested at her home by officers from the Suizhong County Domestic Security Division on the morning of August 13, 2018.

Ms. Wang Guixia, Ms. Tong Julan, and Ms. Liu Shuhua are scheduled to be tried in September 2018 in the Xinzhou District Court.

5. [Qingcheng County, Gansu Province] Ms. He Xuerong and Her Husband Arrested

Ms. He Xuerong and her husband were arrested on August 11, 2018, for distributing Falun Gong materials.

6. [Beijing] Ms. Xu Rong Detained

Ms. Xu Rong, 53, is an associate professor at Beijing Political and Law Vocational College. She was detained in July 2018 for talking to people about Falun Gong and is in the process of obtaining bail.

7. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Ms. Kang Hongying Detained

Ms. Kang Hongying was arrested on the evening of August 6, 2018, while she was placing Falun Gong materials on a car windshield. The car owner called the police.

Ms. Kang was taken to a detention center.

8. [Binzhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yan Suxiang Detained

Ms. Yan Suxiang from Dalinchi Town in Zouping County was arrested on August 13, 2018, for talking to people about Falun Gong in the Dalinchi Farmers' Market. She was taken to the Zouping Detention Center and has not been allowed family visits.

9. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Dai Juzhen and Another Practitioner Arrested

Ms. Dai Juzhen, 69, and another practitioner from the Dongxihu District were arrested on the morning of August 13, 2018, They were taken to the Wujiashan Street Police Station.

Ms. Dai was transferred to the Wuhan City No. 1 Detention Center the following morning for five days of detention. The other practitioner was released.

10. [Chongqing] Mr. Zhang Jun and Ms. Tang Suzhen Arrested

Mr. Zhang Jun and Ms. Tang Suzhen were arrested at a rented home in the Panxi Market area on the afternoon of August 14, 2018.

11. [Jieyang City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Lin Jieping Taken to Prison

Ms. Lin Jieping, a doctor from Yuhu Town, was arrested on July 3, 2017. She was tried on March 31, 2018, and sentenced to four and a half years in prison in May.

Ms. Lin was taken to the Guangdong Women's Prison on August 13.

12. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Yu Xiuju Arrested

Ms. Yu Xiuju from Wenzhuang Village, Dongjiuzhai Town, was arrested by Dongjiuzhai Police Station officers on August 9, 2018, for talking to people about Falun Gong in the Dongjiuzhai Farmers' Market.

Mr. Liu Xiaoxiong was arrested by Qixianling Police Station officers on the morning of July 26, 2018. His home was ransacked.

Mr. Liu was taken to the Dalian City Detention Center.
