Additional Persecution News from China – September 14, 2018 (12 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 5 provinces. According to this report, 4 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 14 were illegally arrested.

1. [Diaobingshan City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Wang Chunjie Detained

Mr. Wang Chunjie and Mr. Cui were arrested on the evening of September 8, 2018. Police officers ransacked Mr. Wang's home and confiscated Falun Gong books and paper money with Falun Gong information printed on them. Mr. Wang is being held at the Tieling City Detention Center. Mr. Cui was released.

2. [Binzhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Sha Xiuping Arrested

Ms. Sha Xiuping was arrested at work on September 7, 2018 after being reported for distributing Falun Gong materials. The officers who arrested her include captain Lin Donghai and Hu Bo from the Domestic Security Division, and officer Song Tao from the Pengli Police Station. Ms. Sha was given ten days of detention. The detention center did not admit her because she failed the physical exam. She was released that night.

3. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Additional News on Arrests of Three Practitioners

Mr. Li Yulin, his wife Ms. Shan Yongqin, and their guest, practitioner Dong, were arrested by officers who broke into their home on the morning of June 5, 2018 and ransacked the home. Mr. Li and practitioner Dong were first taken to the Xiguan Police Station, then to the Gaomi Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital at night for a physical exam, and then to the Gaomi Detention Center. Ms. Shan was released on bail after she failed the physical exam.

Mr. Li was released on June 21, 2018. Officers from the Xiguan Police Station picked him up at the detention center and extorted 2,800 yuan in cash from him after driving him home. Practitioner Dong is still being held at the Gaomi Detention Center.

4. [Jining City, Shandong Province] Ms. Jia Xiuqin and Ms. Jia Xiu’e Arrested

Ms. Jia Xiuqin, 76, from Zhifang Town, Jiaxiang County, and Ms. Jia Xiu’e, 60, from Zhongshan Town, went to Shang Village in Zhifang Town to distribute Falun Gong materials on the morning of September 4, 2018. The Communist Party secretary of Shang Village reported them to police. They were arrested by officers from the Zhifang Town Police Station.

Ms. Jia Xiu’e was given 14 days of detention and is being held at the Jiaxiang County Detention Center. Ms. Jia Xiuqin was released the next day because of her age.

5. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Fengying Sentenced to 18 Months, Ms. Yang Xuhong's Case Sent to Procuratorate

6. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Yufang Detained

Ms. Li Yufang was arrested by officers from the Dayoufang Police Station on the afternoon of September 11, 2018, after she was reported for distributing Falun Gong materials. Her family went to the police station to request her release, but was told that Ms. Li had been taken to the Daowai Domestic Security Division.

7. [Beijing] Ms. Tang Guofang Arrested and Harassed

Ms. Tang Guofang of Chaoyang District was arrested on the afternoon of September 1, 2018 and taken to the Puhuangyu Police Station. The officers at the station took her to the police department case center on the morning of September 2, but the center refused to admit her. The officers ransacked Ms. Tang's home at night and confiscated her computer, printer, Falun Gong books and discs, and other belongings.

The officers took her to the case center again on September 3, but the center again would not accept her. The officers then took her to the Fengtai Detention Center, which also refused to admit her. She was released on bail and taken home by officers from the Fatou Police Station at around midnight.

Officers from the Puhuangyu Police Station broke into Ms. Tang's home and harassed her on the evening of September 8, and they video-recorded the incident.

8. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Ms. Tang Min Being Held at No. 4 Detention Center

Ms. Tang Min disappeared after she visited her parents' home on the evening of May 13, 2018. It was recently learned that Ms. Tang was illegally detained at the Changsha City No. 4 Detention Center.

9. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Gao Hongwei and Practitioner Ren Arrested

Mr. Gao Hongwei and another practitioner with the name Ren were arrested by officers from the Daqinglu Police Station for distributing Falun Gong materials in the afternoon on September 13, 2018. They were held at the Daqinglu Police Station, and have since been released.

10. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Sun Jianguo and Wife Arrested

Mr. Sun Jianguo and his wife were arrested on September 9, 2018, when they were talking to people about Falun Gong at an open market. The officers took them home, ransacked their house, and confiscated Falun Gong books and other belongings. The officers then took them to the police station and tried to get them to give blood samples, but the couple refused. The officers also tried to extort 3,000 yuan from them, which they also refused. They were released at around dawn.

11. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Song Bingmei Arrested

Ms. Song Binmei of Yinan County was arrested by officers from the Jiehu Police Station. The officers confiscated her Falun Gong books. She was released at night.

12. [Qinzhou City, Guangxi Province] Mr. Liao Dawu Formally Arrested

Mr. Liao Dawu was formally arrested on August 3, 2018. Qinbei District Procuratorate issued the arrest warrant.
