(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 8 provinces. According to this report, 5 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 15 were illegally arrested.

Chaoyang Town residents Mr. Shi and his wife were arrested on August 8, 2018.

2. [Heishan County, Liaoning Province] Mr. Niu Tong Arrested

Mr. Niu Tong was arrested by officers from the Heishan Police Department on the morning of August 22, 2018. His home was ransacked.

3. [Jianping County, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Sha Jingtang, Ms. Yang Xiuyun and Ms. Ma Guilan were arrested by officers from the Wanshou Township Police Station on the morning of August 23, 2018. Their homes were ransacked. Ms. Ma and Mr. Sha have been released, while Ms. Yang is still being held at the Jianping County Detention Center.

Mr. Ma Guangrong was arrested in Baiyun New Village on the evening of August 10, 2018.

5. [Tianjin] Ms. Guo Yuying Arrested

Ms. Guo Yuying of Dashi Town, Xiqing District was arrested by officers from the Wangwenzhuang Police Station while distributing Dafa informational materials on the afternoon of August 23, 2018.

6. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Zhimin Detained

Ms. Li Zhimin of Zhangdeng Village in Qingyuan District was arrested for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong in the Ranzhuang Town Open Market on August 22, 2018. She is being held at the Baoding City Detention Center.

7. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Xiuru Detained

Ms. Li Xiuru from Baoding City was arrested by officers from the Nanqi Township Police Station for talking to people about the persecution on August 24, 2018. She is being held at the Qingyuan Detention Center.

Ms. Wang Shupei was arrested by officers from the Zhaoyuan City Domestic Security Division on August 17, 2018. Her home was ransacked.

10. [Changzhi City, Shaanxi Province] Mr. Zhang Yanbing's Appeal Rejected

Mr. Zhang Yanbing of Changzhi City was transferred to Jinzhong Prison on the morning of August 16, 2018.

Mr. Zhang was sentenced to three years in prison by the Changzhi City Suburb Court. He appealed, but the Changzhi City Intermediate Court upheld the sentencing.

11. [Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Xiao Yanping Arrested

Ms. Xiao Yanping was arrested on August 23, 2018. Her whereabouts is unknown.

Ms. Xiao had been subjected to forced labor twice for practicing Falun Gong. She was sentenced to eight years in prison and lost her job. She was imprisoned for a total of 11 years. Her husband, mother and father all passed away due to the persecution.

12. [Shanghai] Additional News on Ms. Liu Chunyan's Arrest

Ms. Liu Chunyan of Qingpu District was arrested at home by officers from the Qingpu District Domestic Security Division, the Xujing Police Station and the Fengxi Police Station on the evening of August 21, 2018. The officers confiscated her Falun Gong books and materials, as well as paper bills worth 130 yuan with Falun Gong information written on them.

Ms. Wang Xingmei was arrested for telling people about the persecution on May 16, 2018. The local court will try her on September 17, 2018.

14. [Xiaogan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zeng Xiumei Detained for Seven Days

Ms. Zeng Xiumei, 49, was arrested by officers from the Sanlipeng Police Station while talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong on Jianshe Road on August 24, 2018. She was detained for seven days.

15. [Zhaoqing City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Liang Qunhao Sentenced to Three Years in Prison

Ms. Liang Qunhao of Gaoyao District was sentenced to three years in prison in August 2018.

Ms. Wang Jiafang was a former associate professor at Guangzhou University. She was sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison on August 25, 2018.

Ms. Tang Tianzhen, 75, was arrested by officers from the Xietaizi Police Station on the morning of June 6, 2018. She was held at the Huayan Detention Center and denied family visits.
