Additional Persecution News from China – August 8, 2018 (7 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 6 cities or counties in 5 provinces. According to this report, 5 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 3 were illegally arrested.

1. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhao Jin'ai's Case Turned Over to Procuratorate

Ms. Zhao Jin'ai, from Shijiazhuang City, was arrested on July 24, 2017, for distributing Falun Gong materials in Beijing. She was taken to the Niujie Police Station in Xicheng District, Beijing. Her home was ransacked.

Ms. Zhao was transferred to the Xicheng Detention Center the following day, and released later that evening because she had high blood pressure.

The Xicheng Procuratorate notified Ms. Zhao on July 20, 2018, that her case had been handed over to them. She was told to hire a lawyer.

2. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Jing's Case Turned Over to Procuratorate

Ms. Li Jing was arrested by officers from the Economic Development Zone Police Department and Shenzhen Street Police Station on March 14, 2018. Her home was ransacked.

Ms. Li is being held in the Changchun City No. 4 Detention Center. She was officially arrested by the Economic Development Zone Procuratorate on March 28. Her case was turned over to the Prosecution Section on May 25.

3. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Jin Guixia Detained

Ms. Jin Guixia from Tuqiao Town, Yushu City, was arrested at her home in August 2018. She was detained for five days.

4. [Nanning City, Guangxi Autonomous Region] Three Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Yang Hong and Ms. Lu Meixiang went to another practitioner's home to study the Falun Gong teachings on the evening of October 25, 2017. A group of police officers broke in, ransacked the place, and photographed and video-recorded the incident. The officers confiscated Falun Gong books, materials, and photos of the founder of Falun Gong.

The three practitioners were taken to a police station, where they were interrogated. Ms. Lu and the unnamed practitioner have since returned home.

5. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Guanghong Arrested

Ms. Li Guanghong was arrested by officers from the Jianshe Avenue Police Station on the morning of August 7, 2018.

6. [Shangqiu City, Henan Province] Ms. Huang Xiulan Facing Trial

Ms. Huang Xiulan's case was turned over to the Suiyang Court by the Suiyang Procuratorate in July 2018. She will be tried on August 10.

Ms. Huang is from the Suiyang District.

7. [Chongqing] Ms. Xiao Hong Detained

Ms. Xiao Hong was arrested by officers from the Rongchang District 610 Office and the local Domestic Security Division on August 3, 2018. She is being held in the Rongchang Detention Center for 15 days.
