Additional Persecution News from China – June 28, 2018 (14 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 8 provinces. According to this report, at least 26 Falun Gong practitioners were illegally arrested, 18 practitioners were detained, one practitioner was denied access to an attorney, and at least 5 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention.

1. [Beijing] Ms. Zhang Qiusha and Husband Mr. Wei Xuejun Arrested and Detained

Over a dozen police officers and auxiliary police went to the home of Mr. Wei Xuejun and Ms. Zhang Qiusha in Fuqiangxili Residential Community, Daxing District, on the afternoon of June 26, 2018. They knocked, then pried open the door. Four people in the home were arrested. The police handed Ms. Zhang's arrest order to her child that evening. Now their child is the only one left at home, and the broken door cannot be locked.

2. [Beijing] Ms. Wang Lei Denied Access to Attorney While in Prison

Ms. Wang Lei, who is originally from Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and now lives in Fangshan District, Beijing, was sentenced to eight years in prison by the Fangshan District Court. She has been detained for four years at the Inner Mongolia Women's Prison. Her attorney Mr. Li Zhongwei went to the prison three times to visit her and have her sign her complaint. However, the prison authorities did not allow him to meet with her on the grounds that Ms. Wang refused to be transformed.

3. [Helong City, Jilin Province] Mr. Yang Yucai and Wife Ms. Qin Liqin Arrested and Detained

Mr. Yang Yucai, 62, and his wife, Ms. Qin Liqin, 58, were arrested about two weeks ago. The police confiscated their printer. Mr. Yang was detained in Helong City, and Ms. Qin was detained in Yanji City.

4. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Xiushuang and Ms. Ni Wenmin Detained

Three officers from Heilin Police Station broke into Ms. Wang Xiushuang's home and arrested her on the evening of June 9, 2018. The officers confiscated two books. Ms. Wang was taken to the Yushu Detention Center.

Three officers from Heilin Police Station broke into Ms. Ni Wenmin's home and arrested her on the afternoon of June 24, 2018. Ms. Ni was taken to a detention center.

5. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Liao Banggui Taken Into Custody

Mr. Liao Banggui, 69, was reported for talking to others about Falun Gong on the morning of June 26, 2018. He is detained at the Economic and Technological Development Zone Domestic Security Division.

6. [Zaozhuang City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Arrested and Detained

Ms. Liu Jie, from Xuecheng District, was arrested on May 13, 2018. Her home was ransacked, and she was taken to the Yuelou Detention Center.

Ms. Sun Zhongfeng and Ms. Ren Weihua, from Huazhuang Village, are being held in a detention center. It was reported that both practitioners failed the physical exam after being diagnosed with hepatitis B. But they were still admitted to the detention center.

7. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wu Aicong Arrested and Beaten

Ms. Wu Aicong, an employee at the Kuiwen District Tobacco Factory, was reported for talking to others about Falun Gong on June 12, 2018. She was arrested by officers from Nanyuan Police Station. The officers forcibly took her fingerprints, as she refused to cooperate with the illegal arrest. They then punched and kicked her.

She was taken to the Weifang City Detention Center, which refused to accept her for failing the physical exam. She was then brought back to the police station. The police extorted 300 yuan from her daughter. They also took 286 yuan from Ms. Wu, which was all she had with her. She was released at 9:30 p.m.

8. [Huai'an City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Meng Xiaojing Detained; Five Elderly Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Meng Xiaojing and five elderly practitioners were arrested by officers from the Qingjiangpu District Domestic Security Division and the Beijinglu Police Station while they were reading a Falun Gong book together at the home of one of the practitioners on the afternoon of May 29, 2018. The six practitioners were taken to the police station. Five practitioners, who are in their 80's, were released after 10 p.m. that evening. Ms. Meng was taken to the Huai'an City Detention Center.

9. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Mr. Huang Dong'an Arrested and Detained

Mr. Huang Dong'an, 50, was arrested by officers from the Ji'an City Domestic Security Division on June 25, 2018, for distributing Falun Gong materials during his work trip to Yongfeng County, Ji'an City. He was taken to the Yongfeng County Police Department. He is being held at the Yongfeng County Detention Center.

Wang, head of the Yongfeng County Domestic Security Division, and two police officers ransacked Mr. Huang's home and confiscated a computer on the following afternoon.

10. [Jingyuan County, Gansu Province] Mr. Song Guoli Detained and Officially Arrested

Mr. Song Guoli was followed and arrested by officers from the Jingyuan County 610 Office on May 2, 2018. He was taken to the Jingyuan County Detention Center the following day and was officially arrested on June 17.

Mr. Song had been displaced since August 2017 to avoid persecution. The 610 Office had been looking for him.

11. [Zunyi City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Guo Yunqi Detained

Ms. Guo Yunqi, in her 50s, from Honghuagang District, was arrested in May 2018. Her home was ransacked, and she is detained at the Bozhou District Detention Center.

12. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Arrested and Detained

Ms. Yang Xuhong, Ms. Liu Fengrong, and Ms. Lin Baolan were arrested by officers from Guandahai Police Station on the evening of June 26, 2018, for distributing Falun Gong materials in Kazuo County. The officers confiscated their car, and the three practitioners were detained at the Kazuo Police Department.

13. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Yancai Tortured in Prison

Mr. Li Yancai was slapped and shocked with several electric batons in October 2016 by Wang Xiaodong, Xu (a Party secretary), and a few other team heads in an office in the No. 6 Ward at Benxi Prison for practicing Falun Gong.

14. [Chongqing] Three Practitioners Arrested and Abused; Two Remain Detained

Ms. Chen Yanxiu (a retired worker from the Songzao Coal Mine in her 60s), Ms. Chen Fengming (a retired worker from the Songzao Coal Mine in her 70s), and Ms. Wen Dehui (a family member of an employee of the Songzao Coal Mine, in her 70s) were arrested at home on the afternoon of June 10, 2018. Their cell phones had been monitored. The officers ransacked their homes and confiscated computers, printers, Falun Dafa books, and materials. The three practitioners were held in an iron cage at the Anwen Police Station, Qijiang District.

Ms. Wen was released the following day.

Ms. Chen Yanxiu, who had been sentenced to prison many times for practicing Falun Gong, was taken to the Jiangjin Women's Detention Center.

Ms. Chen Fengming, who had also been previously sentenced to prison for practicing Falun Gong, was taken to the Qijiang Detention Center.
